Just wanted to see what Christmas films people like to watch before and during Christmas, or whatever holiday you may take part in.

I know a lot of people don't like to get into the spirit of things but considering most if not all of us are movie fanatics, I'm sure a lot of you do pop in a holiday film or two.

Also, the films don't have to necessarily be about Santa and presents and all that stuff. As long as it takes place during the holidays and makes note of it.

These are the few I can remember off the top of my head that I always put on in late December.

1. Gremlins
2. It's A Wonderful Life
3. Die Hard
4. The Ref
5. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
6. Nightmare Before Christmas(can be enjoyed on both Halloween and Christmas)
7. Elf

Okay, I have to ask, why is Elf always showing up on these types of lists?

It was a recent christmas film that I enjoyed. It was funny in a silly way and I like Will Ferrell. I think he's starting to get burnt out but I found Elf to be entertaining.

My favorite Christmas movies are Gremlins, Batman Returns, Die Hard 1 & 2, Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, Christmas Vacation, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, Jingle All the Way, and the animated Grinch.

The two Christmas movies I literally hate are the Charlie Brown one and A Christmas Story.

I actually like Christmas Story, which I forgot to put on my list. I think it's because I grew up watching it every year and it kind of grew on me.

Charlie Brown/Peanuts I never really cared for. I didn't get what the big deal about them was.

Charlie Brown is far too wholesome for my tastes and A Christmas Story always bored the hell out of me.

I guess that might have been the reason for me as well. I just never found it all that funny. Most of the jokes were either "meh" or sort of made me have this face.

Another film I forgot to put up was Trading Places.

The one i watch year after year is A Christmas Story :woot: (of course, i always try to watch Die Hard, cause that one happens around x-mas :cwink: :hehe:)

A Christmas Story
Bad Santa
Jingle all the Way
Die Hard
The Ref
Black Christmas (1974)

Home Alone 1&2
The Santa Clause

Die Hard.

Every year Die Hard.

Its tradition.

A Christmas Story is the only one I really think about watching whenever the holidays roll around.

Home Alone 1&2--Classics.

Jingle All the Way--Corny and over the top but really funny.

Bill Murray in "Scrooged"--Enjoyed the modern take on A Christmas Carol

Nicholas Cage in "The Family Man"--Not a Christmas movie per se but I like the message behind it. Plus Ratner did try to emulate a Frank Capra kind of vibe with it.

A Christmas Story
Christmas Vacation (also my favorite film out of the whole "Vacation" series)
Home Alone
Batman Returns

Elf and A Christmas Story. They're the only 2 Christmas films that I can tolerate.

Die Hard
A Christmas Story
It's a Wonderful Life
Diner
Muppet Christmas Carol
Bad Santa
Batman Returns
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the real, Boris Karloff one)
Jingle All the Way
Hardware

A Christmas Story-I'm pumped for the 24 hour marathon
Die Hard
The Santa Clause
Jingle All The Way

Wow, no love for Lethal Weapon? Shane Black mixes suicidal psychotic cops, crabby old timers, and Christmas. It's a companion piece with Die Hard and The Long Kiss Goodnight to me.

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas
Batman Returns
Scrooged
Elf
Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
(both versions)
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
A Charlie Brown Christmas
Frosty the Snowman
The Santa Clause
Jingle All the Way
The Muppet Christmas Carol
Edward Scissorhands
