Due to earlier screenings for Inception already beginning, the 'Rate the Movie' poll has officially been added.

Beware the critic who claims the ability to analyze Inception authoritatively after one viewing.

Inception: The Cobol Job Prologue Comic

thecoboljob.jpg

Yahoo! Movies just recently launched the entire comic for Inception: The Cobol Job, a 19-page online comic book prologue to the feature film Inception. Written by Jordan Goldberg and featuring art by Long Vo, Joe Ng, and Crystal Reid, Inception: The Cobol Job focuses on Cobb (played by Leonardo DiCaprio in the film) and his team (Arthur and Nash) as they work the job that leads them towards the opening of Christopher Nolan’s brilliant sci-fi actioner, Inception.

the one critic who posted a negative rating on RT.. is now up to 450 comments lmao

I'm not too annoyed with negative reviews. Of the ones I've read thus far, they are perfectly valid reviews. Although I did have some issue with Joanna Langfield's lack of understanding that Ariadne is there for the audience, not Domm.

Anyway, Reed's is the first that I've seen that just doesn't seem to have any validity behind it. He seems to think that Nolan has a reputation as an "arrogant maverick"? Is he privy to some insanely secret Hollywood in-joke about that? Where the hell is that coming from? He also complains that the movie is pretentious for being complex, not spelling out every aspect of the film with exposition. Unbelievable.

Does that guy have some kind of agenda against Nolan? He acts like Nolan did something to him or his family. With all the Nolan fanboyism towards TDK and now Inception, with fans crying bloody murder over any and all negative reviews, I don't want people to think i'm in that group since I don't mind negative reviews so long as they have valid criticisms. With that said, this reviewer sounds like he has a personal issue with Nolan and it also sounds like the film went over his head a bit.

w/e he hated (and i mean hated) the dark knight and batman begins(actually all of nolans films).... that pretty much discredits his reputation as a critic

...what can you expect? lol

He actually gave TDK a positive review. His opinion on it has changed.

Also, I would love to ask this guy why he thinks Nolan is a "hack". I don't see it...at all. If anything I think Hollywood and the movie going public are lucky to have directors like him and Paul Thomas Anderson working today, even though i'm sure a lot of the general audience doesn't really watch PTA's films...at least in the theatre.

Doesn't mean you have to love either of those two directors but they are damn good/great directors. I just don't get what would get that reviewer to call a director like Nolan a hack, ignorance if you ask me. I wonder if Reed is one of those critics that was a failed/never-was-been film maker and is trashing popular directors like Nolan that get a lot of praise. I would need to read more of his reviews for other director's films to get an idea on that assumption.

I understand that people would defend the movie when the movie critics have invalid criticism about it,but what I don't understand are the people who defend it to the point,as if they already saw the whole movie themselves when they haven't even seen it in it's entirety yet.

I have no problem with bad reviews for movies because I don't really care what other people think but wow that guy needs to be fired. Doesn't matter if you don't like the movie but to attack Nolan and his movies not to mention other movies that the actors have made like Shutter Island and Rock N' Rolla like that is really unprofessional. I have one year left in college for journalism and I hope to review movies someday and one of the first things they teach you is to respect the movie industry and everyone in it since without the movie industry we wouldn't have a job. You can hate a movie and deliver a negative review but still show some respect and class.

lol I love how in all of his reviews he always compare a movie to another (most at times completely unrelatable) movie. Plus he always finds a way to shun down the consumerism in each movie.

It's funny that almost the entire review was making fun of the movie but he still gave it 3/5. From his opinion it sounds like he should have given it a 1.5 or 2.

That appears to be the reader rating.
