Goddamnit why didnt the movie open at the same time everywhere? WHY, WHY, WHY???

As much as I love Avatar, this movie was a s**t ton better and is probably bordering on one of the greatest films ever made IMO. Visuals were incredible and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Ending was truly awesome!

I really want someone to post that
"paradox" scene where JGL drops that projection down the staircase after they've been running around it twice. that was one badass clip.

It was just a joke. Killing him wouldn't work. The dream thing just seems like too much trouble but an awesome kind of trouble.

I loved the movie

Joseph Gordon Levitt is now my favorite actor

Cillian Murphy is UNCONSCIOUS in realm 1 AND realm 2, and even in realm 3. The sky could have been filled with purple unicorns and he never would have known...because he was not "present" in those realms. Maybe there's something I'm missing there...but it just seems like a copout to say they didnt do anything at all to help their situation because they might alert Murphy, and Murphy was not at all able to be clued into anything (example: once a bag was placed over his head, his subconscious was not able to see who was around him)

I think it is easy for us to say why can't the the dreamers and manipulators create pot holes in front of the vehicles chasing them or have asteroids fall out of the sky to kill the projections attacking them while Fischer was unconscious in levels 1 and 2. Is that really a basis to ignore the rules established in the movie? Also, it may not have anything to do with Cillian being conscious in the present moment. His subconscious is still aware of anything out of the norm. In the training session, it wasn't because DiCaprio was in person to witness Page's manipulations; his sub conscience was acting independently when it was being threatened by Page. So if you do things like create force fields or make any conspicuous changes in your advantage, maybe the sub conscience will always evolve and counter even harder the more you **** around with it. This is something that can be explored in a sequel. The more you break and bend the rules, the more Agent Smith's come after you.

I know it's a stupid observation, but I have to say it. On most highly anticipated film polls here there is usually some trolling *****e who puts a one rating on the poll, I wonder why it has not happened in this poll? Especially considering that Nolan has quite a few detractors here.

I haven't voted yet so I could vote 1 if it makes you feel better. So you know it's not a dream.

You still not over the Watchmen thing...:hehe:? I would've voted one too had you brought it up sooner just to spite some of the more... outspoken Nolan fans.

It's not an invitation for people to be A'holes, just an observation of a dickish thing posters do here that most of us look down on. There are very, very few films here that even deserve a 1/10, you feel that way you damn well better look like putting up a detailed review on why it's that bad. But most cowards that do that do not even go that far.

I'm barely holding back from voting 1 as well just to spite you Nivek.... :hehe:

:woot:

That's the point, no one should take a 1/10 rating seriously so why get worked up over it? B & R isn't even a 1/10... too much cheesy but hilarious moments that it is pretty much a classic in that regard.

Christ people, childish enough? It's not a ****ing dare.

It's solid considering what this film had going against it. It's nothing spectacular, but it is solid. Now this film's survival depends on word of mouth.

I need to see this again! If only I had my license and a job. I made twelve bucks yesterday from grass cutting which is the price for IMAX. I'm tempted, but every little dollar I'm saving up for a car.

Few questions:

Shouldn't the architect be on every dream since she's the one that creates it?? So why in the beginning, She was not suppose to go with Cobb on the first place??

Everyone was afraid of Limbo but it has the same ESCAPE CLAUSE like the rest of Dreams....Just kill yourself. Why were they afraid of Limbo if it has the same rules and Cobb knows it?

Why does Cobb has to implant the IDEA to his wife??......why can he just SAY....look..lets just kill ourselves???

So Cilian's father at the end was all staged by the crew right?? His father was never proud of him in reality wanting to be his own man?

Hope this helps:

1.) The architect designs the dreams. They're pretty much structured like mazes. The architect, in this case, Ariadne, shows the designs to the dreamer (Yasif in Level One, Arthur in Level Two, and Eames in Level three). Ariadne doesn't need to be there since she wasn't the dreamer at any level and originally she wasn't supposed to be included because Cobb promised Miles he wouldn't bring her in. Cobb only included her because she would be able to help with Mal since she saw what was lying in his subconscious.

2.) Everyone was afraid of limbo because people easily lose their way there since it's filled with the dreamer's subconscious. They forget that they are dreaming. The longer you stay there the longer you get lost. Cobb and Mal lost sight of reality and were trapped there for 50 years. Saito lost his way and probably got trapped there for the same amount of time.

3.) Cobb had to plant the idea because Mal locked away her totem so she would always believe limbo was their reality. No matter what he said she wouldn't believe him because her totem was locked away in her safe.

4.) The crew designed the room to look like a hospital so Fischer's subconscious would place his father there. His father was never proud of him but the crew was able to convince Fischer and his subconscious that he did with the events on the other levels.

Yeah... it's a flop. Don't gross at least 100 million OW and you are pretty much cast off as step son that nobody wants anymore. At least there is BB3.

edit

WOW

COOL

Thanks J L Unlimited

I'll have to re-watch it again

In that sense, yeah, if this was some giant franchise sequel or other adaptation, 60 mil would not even be in the ballpark, but for an original screenplay and concept, it's good.

It's not a flop. BO reports say it is a solid opening weekend. They would say otherwise. This movie was never going to make a $100 million opening weekend even in the prediction. In fact it met expectations. We'll see if it flop or not with time.

Avatar made $75 million opening weekend.

For an original film with such a seemingly complicated concept for the GA to grasp this is good.

Why wont people go and see this but instead flock to see giant robot balls and Fox's giant fish lips?
