Fantasy Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey

So glad Elliot is in this; I know he’s struggled to get some roles in recent years. Also awesome that Himesh has a role; that should soften the blow of The Franchise’s cancellation (criminally underrated show).

I still think Holland is way too young to play Odysseus but maybe it will work. I guess if he left for the Trojan War at a young age and then they just age him up throughout it could look okay. But I feel like Holland is one of those guys who will look 19 until he’s in his 50s and all the makeup in the world won’t help.

I honestly think he's starting to look his age more in recent interviews. He definitely doesn't look like a teenager anymore imo.

He's sober living now and that can age you. :o

Hold up -- is Holland playing Odysseus?? Where's that info from?

He's definitely too young-looking; he's more likely Telemachus, one would think.

He's confirmed to be the lead, but so far nothing on whether he's playing Odysseus or not.

Confirmed by... ?
I assume he has a major role, since he was one of the first castings announced.

Deadline said he was the lead, but we debated if that meant he was Odysseus or one of the leads.

Which Deadline article? I haven't found one that said Holland is THE lead.
Oh nevermind the source was a Twitter account called Screen Time, they had put Deadline as their source, but it's not a clickable link. The internet just ran with it. Unless there's something in their replies, but I do not have an account.

Until we know more, I'm taking it as Holland being a lead, not the lead. I seriously doubt Nolan would consider casting a 28-year-old to play Odysseus. I'm thinking he's Telemachus.
But he also prefers a Brit lead. Welsh is also acceptable. :o

Interstellar is the perfect Nolan movie. Oppenheimer is his best but Interstellar will always be my favourite.

Well, on some level The Dark Knight is my "favourite" but that's "I was fourteen when it came out" brain.

Interstellar hate has not aged well, lol. Jk but not really...it's kinda that clearcut for me now. Seeing it again last year in IMAX made it abundantly clear to me how we are more starved than ever for films that big and bold and awe-inspiring. It was right up there with Dune Part II as one of the best cinematic experiences of the year for me even though it's a film I've already seen a bunch.

TDK will always be special because it set a new bar for the modern blockbuster that I think in some ways has remained the bar to this day. Even though it's his 6th film, it's kind of like Nolan's Jaws. There is just a very clear before and after with that film in terms of the trajectory of his career. And I think it will always be somewhat on a pedestal, because just how good it was genuinely blindsided people, whereas after that everything with his name on it has to carry that weight of huge expectations.
