Fantasy Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey

Poster and teaser are cool. I like the tone they are going for.

What i notice is that this is Nolans 3rd film from which there already was a tvseries.
Its like he saw those series and thought 'i want to do a film adaption of this'
Dunkirk, Oppenheimer, The Odyssey

Also the concept of Tenet is largely stolen from the small film 'Primer'
Interstellar/Contact and so on
........

I really like Nolans filmstyle and plots
But is he really THAT original?

He is just a great visionar with a fantastic crew to bring his vision to life.

So dont get me wrong, most of is films are great, but i think not as original as what people pretend it to be.

I'd completely forgotten that this was attached to Jurassic World, so it was a nice surprise seeing this at my showing.

I don't know if it's just me, but I thought this was Nolan's weakest teaser yet. His dialogue is now not only inaudible during the film itself but also the trailers. The imagery was also not very exciting, especially for a first look. But I've been lukewarm on Nolan since Dunkirk so maybe he just doesn't do it for me anymore.

I was happy to see the teaser with Jurassic World Rebirth, but it doesn't show you a ton. It's more or less a "Hey guys, this exists!!!" trailer. But I am stoked for the movie! Probably more so for this than anything else Nolan has done in a while. Maybe since Interstellar.

From what i saw from the teaser, visually it looks great and reminds me of Dunkirk.

I think this film will be told as in, Odyssey as a myth..
Told by different characters... and they dont know where he is by the end of the film..

Very simple and effective teaser, was a treat to see it on the big screen. Nailed exactly the tone I was hoping for. I'm still just really tickled that this is Nolan's next movie. Even just based on the few money shots they teased here, this is going to be unreal in IMAX. I'm already getting some Dunkirk vibes, where there's some simple but striking visual poetry to the shots.

It's also just crazy that in 2008, he gave us the first IMAX footage for a major film and then it'll have been 18 years to finally get to the point where we're going to finally have the first movie entirely filmed in the format. Even with all the major breakthroughs in filmmaking technology in between. That's nuts. Hopefully we get a prologue with Avatar this December.

Somehow i hope nolan does a thriller/action movie that takes place in the mordern world again, after this.

More film noir.

Thought they would have put the teaser online by now.
Me too but looking into it I don't think the Oppenheimer teaser from summer 2022 was ever officially released online. At least it's not on YouTube. Maybe this won't be released online officially.

My first choice would be Robert Eggers, but lately I've been thinking a Nolan adaptation of Moby-Dick could be really, really good. And it's such a niche genre that I think he's one of the few that could manage a BO draw with it.

They did release it and it played with the countdown right until the film’s release depending when you clicked.

But now can’t be played unfortunately.
