Chuck (NBC)

The Even and Outsourced aren't expected to get past the first season, even after this pickup.

That really does not seem like a long lasting story any way ? Unless they end up doing nothing but filler ? Hopefully the creators are prepared for it not lasting beyond this season

I laughed so hard when Casey grabbed Morgan by the neck and lifted him up like that. :hehe:

I love seeing them all hanging out at the end. They don't do enough of those scenes anymore.

Next weeks looks crazy. Robert Englund

Is it just me or is this show getting more and more ridiculous? What initally attracted me to Chuck was its balance of humor, action, drama, and romance. But this season has so far been mostly comedy. Tonight's episode being a good example. The action scenes are getting cheap-ish. That explosion during the funeral was so fake-looking it's embarrasing. There's virtually no more drama. The villains capturing Casey is ruined by Oingo Boingo's Dead Man's Party. Seriously, what were they thinking? And, this Morgan and Alex relationship isn't being well done. Morgan had more chemistry with that Asian chick from season one.

Next week's episode looks awesome and if it is then they're back on track, but so far I've been underwhelmed by this season.

I know I've said this before, but the show constantly being on life-support has hurt it. The producers keep changing the format in attempts to attract more viewers. Season one was a solid action-comedy. Season two got more sitcom-esque with all the sub-plots involving the hijinks of the Buy More. Season 3 was a romantic comedy. And, now, season 4 is pure comedy. What other show has been this inconsistant?

Sorry Catman but I just don't agree with you. As far as explosions/effects looking bad its due to lower budgets, but you should be aware of that. It doesn't really hurt the show.

If anything this season has been too romance drama heavy. With chuck and sarah's issues to awesome and ellie's preggy issues to morgan and alex. Even with big mike wanting to propose.

I don't really understand how you can complain about the comedy when it has been the most consistent thing in this show. The action is still there, and the action comedy elements have always been a little silly, since season one.

Infact season 1 was probably the silliest season. This season is still early, they are still spreading the seeds for the rest of the season.

Chuck is steady. But so is Event and Chase isn't dead yet, but I imagine it won't be getting anymore eppys picked up.

Chuck 1.9/5 with 5.26 mil
Event 2.2/5 with 6.37 mil
Chase 1.6/4 with 5.17 mil

And yes, I watch Chase now. Don't know why...nothing special, it's a okay show. Chuck is much better.

And those ratings are so CRAPPY.

I have a feeling that Chuck might not be picked up for a full season, but it's NBC and there's always hope that they will do it because their other shows are so lackluster.

Saw preview for next week's show where:

Chuck is shot by his mom. I think she shot him with rubber bullets, meaning he'll live with just a flesh wound.

So glad you are wrong :D

MichaelAusiello It's official: NBC picks up CHUCK for the entire season.

forgot to add

MichaelAusiello One more note about CHUCK: NBC actually ordered 11 additional episodes, for a total of 24!!
less than a minute ago via web

Besides the confirmation on this page, you wouldn't have thought this if you read the links to Ausiello from the previous page.

11 episode pick up...

Yes! So glad it's been picked up for a full season. Last night's episode was awesome, as usual.

I guess I missed the good news. Thanks for the heads up.

It's more broad this season.

season 1 was probably the silliest season

Season one was the least silly. The Buy More antics were kept to a minimal, Casey wasn't a joke yet, and the villains weren't stunt casting. Now, granted, Chuck (the character) was ridiculously over-the-top. I'll give you that. But, everything around him had a more serious tone. The spy stuff wasn't done for laughs (usually), the action scenes were pretty cool, and you had badass characters like Bryce. The original premise of the show was getting this loser geek and putting him in an extraordinary situation. The gag, the comedy, was Chuck himself. In season 4, it's the opposite. Chuck is a much more serious character but the show itself is a comedy.

Catman is right, the comedy is more in your face this season , I didnt care for the episode where chuck went all Dr Phil in the cave and tried counciling the south american couple.

That was the most cringeworthy episode since Chuck vs the Helicopter.

Awesome. I hope the producers finish things up this season. Give a decent ending in case there is no season five. No cliff hangers.

Yeah. Give it some kind of ending. And if they do end up getting another season just start off with a new story.

Can't stand when it ends on a cliffhanger and never know if it's going to come back.

Morgan shocking the three ex-soldiers was pretty stupid. Don't most military boots have rubber soles?

Aside from that and Jeff/Lester not dying a horrible death, it was a fun episode. Casey's daughter is cute.

Next week looks like a good one.

The water was up over theirs soles and soaking the bottoms of their clothes. Also, rubber soles aren't enough to protect you if the shock is large enough.

I don't think Casey is a joke. He's not as...he has a lighter tone to him since season 3.

And 24 eppies! Holy! I am a happy camper.

dunno if this has been posted yet, but captain awesome is in this music video from sugarland.
