Circuit City to close 69 stores

Everything at my Circuit City is way more expensive than Best Buy...even in their weekly ads the price is a dollar or two more expensive. I don't think I have found a single deal at a CC as opposed to BB.

I just got back from Circuit City and they said they probably won't be open for 30 days. Right now everything was marked 30% so I got two Muse albums (Absolution and Black Holes and Revelations) for like $7 each. They also said that the sales haven't begun yet and to expect things to go way way down. I might finally get that Digital Camera and Blu-Ray. Thanks for sucking, economy.

There was a CC store that just moved into a brand new store space barely a year ago nearby....sucks for them....but I've always found them to be more expensive than Best Buy or any local chains....

really??....Radio Shack is a joke here in my area of CT.....no one goes there unless they absolutely have to or if they just need something in a hurry.....Id never make a big purchase (TV, stereo) from there....

I'm messing around...Radio Shack is pretty small...I think thats the best way to do things....either that or go big...Walmart big.

Radio Shack doesn't have the mess that Best Buy has...thats if you're buying something simple...then again, you can buy everything they both have at Walmart.

Even rims.

Wal-Mart pays their employees less than dirt and unofficially encourages them to go on state assistance if so needed....out of all the Wal-Mart employees here in CT, about 30 percent of them are on state assistance....I won't even walk into one if I'm with someone else...

dropped by today.....they didn't have squat on sale that was worth buying. i bought Kung Fu Hustle on blu-ray and i only bought that so i wouldn't feel like i wasted my time.

circuit city has been on my fail list for a while but i didn't realize they could fail while they're failing.

I just saw that the Circuit City by my house is closing an only has a 25% off right now, Id like to go when the sales better an hopefully find something worth my while. Only good thing I ever got at Circuit City was my copy of TDK which came with the better cover, journal, and Joker card

Poor Circuit City. I loved going to them and best buy to see which had cheaper stuff. *sigh* I'll wait till it's closer to closing here in NYC, like, on it's last weeks. That's when the sales will hopefully be awesome. I want a new computer.

To bad, they had some good deals everynow and then. Went yesterday to see what was on sale and everything was 10 or 20 percent off. Everything still cost more than Best Buy. And that guy who said shop at Radio shack your crazy. You must love buying things that either don't work as soon as you get it or break a week later. That company is a joke. Oh and My Circuit City just got a new building as well right across the street from the old building shaped like the old logo.

same here in CT deathshead...the one nearby just moved into a new space right down the street in Summer of 07...they kept the old building as an outlet store, but they are both done now

Lousy customer service is also one of them, I had dealing with them and they are the worst when I had problems with a item.

Heck some guy in my french class stole one of the big console cases(you know the stand with the tv in it for the demos) without anyone caring. I couldv'e robbed the place blind hundreds of times. Now Best Buy pisses me off I can't go 5 seconds without someone asking me if I need help finding something. I'm just browsing dammit

I'll admit that Fry's at best has the exact same prices as Best Buy on a few items, but their management caves in like a house of cards. 7 out of 10 times, you can get away with anything if you complain enough.

I was mainly suggesting Fry's because of the way they allocate employees throughout the store, though. It's hardly a ghost town, and employees actually try to keep track of whether or not someone else has talked to you first (the beauty of commission-based pay and grudges) so you don't get stopped every 5 minutes.

Fry's only has stores down the West Coast, throughout the Southwest, and Georgia. So if you ever find yourself in the Seattle area, Oregon, the San Francisco area, the Los Angeles area, San Diego, Phoenix, Dallas, practically everywhere in Houston Texas, or a small unheard of town named Alpharetta in the outermost parts of the Atlanta area...

They're closing where I live. Don't really go there but it sucks because more people will be in Best Buy.
