People usually think of Gays/Lesbians when it comes to this subject, but how do you guys feel about this among straight couples?

I am not religious and neither is my girlfriend. There is no need for us to be recognized through religious means. So do you think civil unions are something male/female couples should be able to benifit from too?

I think it would be easier if everyone were to just be givin civil unions with the same rights, and those who want to get "married" can do so through the church.

*facepalm*

Without religion, a "civil union" is what a marriage is.

A man and woman can get "married" in a court house with no religious involvement whatsoever.
Remember a legal marriage has nothing to do with religion, it's strictly a government thing (in terms of legalities etc..).
