Clark and Lana?

I think it will be a new chapter in the Clark & Lana relationship. They will be completely sans secret between them, for the first time. They have been through a considerable amount together over the years, and a little togetherness and comfort, even happiness together will be well deserved. Although at the same time, the seeds of seperation will probably also have to be laid out this season. So it'll be tricky. But interesting I hope. And whatever happens, I hope it's a worthy progress and eventual culmination of the relstionship. As the premiere 'ship' of the show, they deserve it.

I am really hoping that whenever Lana returns next season, she can take on a kind of emotional anchor role with Clark.

That's the female I meant. I just didn't want to say a name in case it would start another war. But I think some people made it clear by now that Lois was far from...well pure.

Just my 2 cents on the earlier '****' talk, but I dont like it actually when the word '****' is thrown around for any of the females on the show. None of them are, IMHO. I admit to liking Lois and Lana a lot, but I honestly dont think it is my bias talking when I say this.

Lana dated Whitney, never slept with him. Then there was Jason, who she also didn't sleep with. Then ofcourse Clark, which was her first time. And Lex, who she ended up getting married to.

Where Lois is concerned, the show made it clear in 'Spell' that she wasn't a virgin, but that hardly qualifies for being a ****. If that were the case, a lot of us would be ****s. And during the run of the show, she only briefly dated AC, only kissed him, never slept with him. Then there was the krypto freak she went on a date with in 'Fade', whom she didn't sleep with either. And finally Ollie, with whom she was in a pretty committed relationship with. But it was still made clear that they didn't sleep together. Aside from this, there's just been the mention here and there of her disastrous love lofe, but I've never thought that to mean she was a ****. More just unlucky in love.

i personally do not see the chemistry between lois and clark on the show (see Crimson). i prefer that they stay away from lois/clark on smallville... save that for metropolis and the daily planet.

Ah.. we have a difference in terms. To me "beat up" means losing a fight, not just getting bruise. I'm sure they both nursed bruises from that fight for a long time.

I don't really get why whether or not lana and clark get together would cause hostility, lol. I'm not a big Lana fan, but I would like to see them together because its how its been set up from day one, the one constant in Smallville is that Clark loves Lana and always has. And Lana has been through enough angst and confusion over the boy, so now all that is gone, I would love to see them be able to have a real relationship with nothing between them. And, maybe this is self-serving of me, but I'd love to have the "supersex" issue addressed Lana know knows, (or maybe once she comes back and they can really talk,) why Clark refused to sleep with her, so maybe she can.....ease his fears

regardless this seems like it could be a new chapter in their relationship, at least I hope, because its not about who you like, its about what makes sense on the show.

As for Season 7 Clana? I'm hoping that Lana orchestrated her own "death" to escape from Lex and so the fact that she would do that without telling Clark -instead, giving him acceptance re: secret and a loving farewell- is an indication that she's growing ever more independant from him and more competent in ensuring her own safety. This is good because Clark will no longer have to spend every episode or so concerned over Lana's physical/emotional safety and can start worrying over the mad escapades of Lois Lane instead.

Seriously though folks, what do you think the longterm effects of Lana's new Luthor capabilities will be on her relationship with Clark? We saw in Nemesis that although she's learned something of bitterness, ruthlessness and a desire for vengeance, she remained devoted to Clark. But then we also have a possible link between Progeny & Phantom. In the Progeny hospital scene we had a sad but cool and calm Lana telling Clark that she would survive the miscarraige et al alone as she has always had to survive things. (Reminds me alot of Void's ending scene) To me this points to her not recoursing to Clark to save herself from Luthors Sr. and Jr. in Phantom.

I don't think Clark will know how to handle a Lana that no longer relies upon him for security or a safehaven. (thus providing the angst factor) This is new for Lana as well; all of her past relationships from Whitney to Lex were motivated not only by love but by their ability to safeguard her. Now that Lana has become well and truly her own protector --and even Clark's protector post-Crimson as secretkeeper-- I think Clana will be based solely on their abiding affection for each other. Sweeter but wearier, methinks.

Thanks for defending Lois, Riva. It's possible to think neither female LLs are excessively permissive. I think the show does a good job overall in keeping things family friendly.
