is it me or do Wolverine's Claws not look good in this film they were done much better in previous trilogy in some shots he look like snap on claws?

I honestly felt this by watching the trailers and clips.
Maybe in the actual movie they'll be better.

To me, practical is always better than fake. His claws do look a little fake in a couple of the trailers but it could be unfinished.

I read an article about how he used real metal claws in X1 and accidentally stabbed Mystique's stunt double, and they're being careful not to have that same thing happen here (though I heard somewhere that Taylor got clipped during the alley scene). Could be that, along with the fact that, like what others have said--it's not finished yet.

Yeah, but its not like they couldn't make them out of plastic or something. Alot of the special effects from trailers and the leaked version seem kinda second rate, but I think that, like it was said before, its unfinished. It seems like the claws were just glued onto his knuckles.

The prop claws or the CG claws? The prop claws are basically the same as they've always been, and in some promotional shots look perhaps a little less than convincing (which has always been the case). Its too soon to judge the digital claws though.

I wouldn't say that the x-men films claws never looked fake...

the only time the claws ever seemed real to me was the bar scene in x1 and the weapon x flashback in x2. other than that they always seemed like a prop to me

I liked the claws in X1...especially the close ups when they come out of his hand but that was in the bar scene sooo.

Yeah, the first time you see his claws was very well done. It seemed like his claws were longer in the first one...or is that just me?

I always liked his claws in the X-movies.
I hope it'll be the same when I get to watch his film April 30.

The clip they just showed on Leno...the claws looked really fake:( Also, when Agent Zero was talking...his mouth wasn't moving. You could tell they dubbed that in later.

Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed.."What's up with his claws?".....

for some odd ass reason, who ever is working on the CG claws arnt completing them dow the back of his hand as they are suppose to be! christ whats so hard here people, they did it with X3 too and it looked ridiculous. They animate them literally just coming out between his fingers... they are excluding how they should be coming out of the back of his hand aswell... Its most disappointing in the shot they keep using of his claws coming out in the Bonding Tank, looks terrible.

what is so god damn hard about it ...

In fact tis the ONE thing that really makes the movie claws spectacular pieces of work... You are given that illusion that the claws come out of the back of his hands like the comic and have people wondering, how did they do that!?!?

Those claws are perfect in their design and construction, since X-men 1. But it seems now people are just getting too damn LAZY! Singer made sure to even use fake arms to get the real look... now its just completely 200% half assed CGI.

You can say that "oh you havnt seen the final film" but its the same case with X3, and it will stay the same here, the CGI claws will be wrong and will come from the wrong place in his hand, and float there.

when the middle claw is coming slowly out of hes hand......thats a fake arm.

i will say if you spend decent amount of money it should be done with CGI. they can now make realistic CGI and use a real arm. but since FOX is cheap and they dont want to spend a lot of money it looks fake. since they dont want to spend a lot of money tehy should do without CGI.

what can we do. its 2009 and some effects look cheaper then in 2003 X2 movie.

The movie claws have always emerged from between the knuckles, not the back of his hand like the comics. The physical prop claws -do- overlap onto the back of the hand, and it seems like that's always been an inconsistency between the prop and digital versions, but they've never been shown to actually snikt-out from that location.

I know I could photoshop a better pic than that.:o That is just wretched. Hopefully it is not finished but if it is...damn that is horrible. That is exactly how they looked on the Leno clip with the helicopter scene. They looked awful if someone wants to screen cap that.

The CGI on that scene is better in the leaked version but from what I'm seeing it still comes out of the same spot. They might change that for the final version but I kinda doubt especially since that's what happened in X3.

Yea.. I know man... you mis understood me. The CGI makes it look LESS real then the actual prop... where as the prop claws extend down the back of the hand making it a very cool effect... looking more like the comic book counterpart...

The CGI makes it look like hes actually holding knives between his fingers/knuckles.. and not emergering from them.

The fact that it looks completely fake irks me more.
