Clerks 3

Yeah, the Clerks movies always had more of a "serious" streak to them compared to the likes of Mallrats and J&SB. They seem to be the most autobiographical entries in Smith's films. I mean, rewatch the original J&SBSB. It doesn't really hold up. The new one wasn't any better or worse, although I'd say probably a bit better because he injected a bit of heart into the third act. But I'll say that I really think the proper way to experience that movie was with a receptive audience at one of the Fathom events or Q&A screenings. It had a fun energy, almost like more of a cult movie. I'd imagine it's a night and day experience watching that movie at home on streaming. Cause yeah...it's not..."good", haha.

I'm definitely interested in Clerks 3. I could listen to Dante and Randal chat all day.

agreed i couldn;t even finish the silent bob reboot different time that type of humor just isnt viable now imo i mean i find it cringe that he still wears his hat backwards like really dude im saying that as a man that used to dye his beard :loco: ive embraced my age and i'm happier for it hope for trhe best but i doubt that pic of the cast wow man this does not look good at all
Cringe is thinking you shouldn’t do things based on a number.

I agree. J&SBSB is not a good movie. It is a collection of bits loosely tied together by a nonsense meta plot about Hollywood. The sequel is very much the same thing, and I think both films are of similar quality. The only difference for me is nostalgia since I was a teen when the 1st one came out and I was big into all those movies. I think Clerks III will be a step up from that. I like both Clerks films, and even if it is the worst of the 3, I am expecting something of better quality than either J&SB whacky shenanigans film.

Will this actually make it to theatres or going straight to streaming?

Last few Kevin Smith movies did a roadshow type thing with screenings in specific locations on specific days. My guess is this will do the same

Not that it really makes a difference in the current release climate but are Smith's films really that niched now that he just doesn't do wide releases anymore? I waited until Jay and Silent Bob Reboot was On Demand but I thought that one at least had a limited release nationwide.

Just got my photo op ticket to finally meet Kevin Smith at my local comic con this november! About time.

His roadshow model turned out to be a great alternative to the current state of traditional release models. Claims they easily recouped Reboot's budget that way and I was a big fan I got to see it that way.

lol

The most memberberries movie of all time! Good for Smith actually completing it after like a decade. Definitely looks like a huuuuge improvement over Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.

I’ll definitely stream it one day.

Looks awesome! lots of nostalgia, which is a good thing here. Loving seeing the old gang again.

I like that Smith is using his heart attack as inspiration for this.

Also, love the LIT needle drop.

I think this looks pretty good. I will check it out

I haven't particularly liked much of what I've seen of Smith's since Zack and Miri but I'm in for this if for no other reason than Randall being my favorite Askewniverse character. It looks like a nostalgic love letter to where he started.

I think both Clerks movies are Smith's best work, so I have more faith in this than say Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. Which was always gonna be more of the same as the first movie. I like to think Smith just wouldn't do a 3rd one without having a good idea. I like the biographical elements he is incorporating into the story. Even that joke about Dante getting shot and commenting on the original Clerks ending is pretty funny.

I think this will be good
