i would be cool to see spidey swinging at the end of the film, then he swings past the docks and the camera stays at the docks as we see spidey swing off then the music goes from cheery happy end music to lower worrying music (Think Spideman 2 final scene with MJ) and we pan down to the edge of the docks looking over the water. then doc oc's tentacle smashes onto the ground.

That would be neat, except Spider-Man 3 takes place 3 years after SM 2.

This is an interesting topic! I haven't had a chance to look at the Hype in a while. A recent lunch in the East left me with the impression that there probably won't be a cliff-hanger ending...at least not outright. The primary 'after' market concept is a 'Trilogy' DVD package. Didn't a name near the top of the studio say that this script 'closed the story arcs' or themes from the other two so that they could make it a trilogy? Makes sense...that's the most popular strategy at all the companies right now.

Everyone seems to know that the studio (or some important names anyway) want at least another sequel. But if I were a betting person (thanks to a fine twelve step program - I'm not)...I'd be looking at 2012.

SM3 should have ended with a cliffhanger. They should have gone with the Lizard and GG2 for this movie. Play out the goblin arc, and tell the whole Lizard story, as well as introducing the symbiote and playing out the symbiote plot also. Then, then SM3 with Spidey ridding himself of the suit and it finding Brock, and then Venom and Sandman for SM4. That would have been awesome.

How could it not? Think of the epic and dark storyline that comes with such an intimidating villain! Think of the awesome special effects for bringing such a feared foe to life!
