Cloak & Dagger Cloak and Dagger General Discussion

Thought it was a rebranded ABC family channel?

It begin as ABC Family. It was part of the deal when Rev Pat Robertson sold off the network. Then the "family fare" started featuring gay parents and sexually teasing teenagers, causing Pastor Pat to pull out his remaining hair and the rebranding of the network was allowed

And I guess we're not getting that forum. Channel 19 for me. I'm liking the positive reviews so far.

I put in a request for a forum. Honestly, I am not sure why it hasn't happened.

I'm stopping it with my mind. Just because I can.

So far, pretty decent. The production values are good but this is only episode one of course.

I like the differences and similarities. A lot of the character of their backstory is the same, but the origin of their powers, of course, seems very different. Also, they're drawing Roxxon from the Ultimate version.

Once again with drawing from the source material as well as changing it, I love that they're not shying away from drug use, which was an important part of the original story, and they're also not afraid to have Tandy use drugs (particularly given the demographics of the heroin epidemic today). I always thought the original story was a cop out by not having them intentionally use drugs.

so now they touch powers activated?

Tandy's boyfriend is a surprisingly nice guy all things considered.

Really digging this so far. I find the music in these YA oriented shows to be pretty grating but that aside, this is really dang good across the board. The leads are particularly great; Marvel has, per usual, nailed the casting. Happy to see they aren’t pulling any punches in regards to drug use.

I thought that was a good ending. I'm enjoying their lives separately and together so, while I'm hoping to see them together, I'm also hoping to see more of their family lives apart.

The preview for next episode looked intense as well. Looking forward to discussing it in its own forum ;)

This was a fairly great start, looking forward to watching more episodes, will there be 2 episodes a week or only 1? It's definitely not as watered down or as kid friendly as I thought it would be. For what used to be The Family Channel years ago FreeForm is doing more adult oriented shows now.

Another win for Marvel. Except for the occasional hiccup, is there anything these guys can't do?

Keep Scott Buck from making a bad product? Make Finn Jones a good Iron Fist?

I really enjoyed it. I really like the new additions of them tapping into hopes and fears. That is a cool addition. Glad the drug abuse is still apart of their story, and not white washed out. And I love the different lives they live, and that they are slow rolling them coming together.

That ending was great. I loved it.

Also, stuck with the channel a bit after the premier ended. I think Freeform is getting a little passive aggressive over the 700 club.

it's another slamdunk win for Marvel... damn good start for CND... well done allaround...

Instead of cutting her off he gave his stash to try to get Tandy out of town and a new life.

I think I mixed him up with another character. But I remember him being a bit different in the pilot.

Keep Scott Buck from making a bad product?

I think they'll do that in the future by not giving him any projects.

It's not entirely new for Cloak. When people got absorbed into his cloak and he drained them of their life energy, they would often see their greatest fears. I believe it is new for Dagger, though.

How do you figure?

He was supportive throughout without being smothering and only wanted to help her succeed. Given that the show has to get Cloak and Dagger together, I was expecting him to be a real jerk and he wasn't.

We need a forum so it isn't all bundled together in one thread. At least with individual episodes I can avoid spoilers for future ones (hopefully) while only reading the current episode thread.

Haven't started watching yet.
