Who would you prefer to see lead Cobra for the duration of the film series and why?

I'd prefer Cobra Commander, as I think Serpentor couldn't be done realistically. Then again, I'm not sure of the creative direction and style of the film yet.

I would prefer to see CC as a shadow figure. I really don't want to see Serpentor at all. It would be too goofy. I would also like to see the movie be filmed alot like Black Hawk Down, but that probably wouldn't happen with the Director.

Yeah, I don't expect much from Sommers. I'd be nice to see him dig deeper into his older film talent pool and grab Fraser or Jackman for a future installment. I doubt that'll happen though. The first 'Mummy' was okay. Everything after was ****. The only thing I liked about 'Van Helsing' was the b&w opening.

I think Serpentor could work if done right. I don't think Sommers is the guy to give that job to though. Anyone but Golobulous works for me really. Not to knock my dead homie Burgess Meredith. He was the best Penguin ever.

I wouldnt mind Serpentor being brought into the film series at some point, given if the franchise is successful enough to warrant sequels. But yeah, I like the character, but a few things would have to change in order for him to successfully make the transition from the comic/cartoon version to a fully realized character on the silver screen. Personally, I would definately keep Cobra Commander as the leader and founder of Cobra. And with Serpentor, I would have him not as a rival for the leadership of Cobra, but as a general for the Cobra troops which I believe was the original intent and reason for his being in the first place anyways.

Serpentor could work about as well as sharks with friggin' laser beams attached to their heads.

I am in the minority though in thinking that Globulus and the Cobra-La could work. Like Serpentor, if done right, I think it could work.

What would it take for it to work? First I would change the name from Cobra-La to Cobrala. Two, it would almost have to be another trilogy. I mean, the genre of the franchise would completely change from military/war to sci-fi/fantasy. Again, if done right, I think Cobrala could definitely work.

Even more, I think a third trilogy could even be done involving space and The Six Lunatixx Empires. Again, if done right, it could work.

This is what I have been campaigning for all along. Three connected trilogies in three different genres.

TRILOGY 1
G.I. JOE: WWIII
- Focuses on G.I. JOE's biggest battle against
Cobra Commander, Destro, and the whole Cobra
Clan. Serpentor is introduced somewhere in the
second half of the trilogy.

TRILOGY 2
G.I. JOE: APOCALYPSE NOW
- G.I. JOE faces it's biggest challenge to date in the
form of a surreal entity known as Cobrala. Globulus
may not be the Devil himself but he's damn close.

TRILOGY 3
G.I. JOE: ABOVE & BEYOND
- After ridding their home planet of evil, G.I. JOE
finds itself recruited by intergalactic beings to fight
an interstellar war against The Lunatixx Empires. For
the first time in the franchise, G.I. Joe and Cobra will
join forces to preserve existence as all know it.
--------------------------------------------------------
That's my idea and why I have little hope for the current G.I. Joe franchise.

Most definitely Cobra Commander. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Cobra Commander. GI JOE is (supposedly) geared toward a more realistic military movie, and Serpentor is IMO too ridiculous to be realized onscreen.

COBRA COMMMANDER!!!!!!!!! There is no other choice, imo :)

Even though it's geared towards being realistic, I wouldn't put it past Sommers to try and squeeze Serpentor in there.

This is not even a fair fight...CC all the way.

Cobra Commander. I love Destro. But, I like Cobra Commander better. Like SuBe said, Serpentor would be just plain goofy.

I'd take Serpentor over Cobra-la, though . . . that's when the Joes jumped the shark for me as a kid. I had Golobulus and my brother had one of those "lalalalalalalalalala" troopers, but they really weren't that much fun to play with--except for the trooper's sweet sword/sickle/thing:

Now I'd rather see CC in the first movie but I'd love to see Serpentor in a sequel. And with someone like Somers at the helm that could happen since he doesn't shy away from the fantastic like some boring directors out there like Singer.

I'd put Singer above Sommers any day.
