Action-Adventure Cobra Kai - (The Karate Kid Spin-Off)

Terry Silver is such a delightfully manipulative *******. :funny:
Thomas Ian Griffith has slipped back into this role so well, man killed it this season (and the previous one, but that was more of a slowburn to Silver's descent into madness).

I was really surprised to see
Robin Lively!
Yeah, when she first showed up, it didn't register for me that it was her but I knew she looked familiar. It was only in the bar scene where I had a lightbulb moment. The idea of Amanda being related to her seems forced on paper, but I felt it was executed really well here. Plus, she was instrumental to helping Amanda realize just how much trauma and abuse Silver put Daniel through.

I loved the therapy sequence with Kreese in Episode 6, and I was not expecting when we saw

A young de-aged Johnny Lawrence! Looked pretty impressive!

Kove gave a great performance in that scene!

The producers have stated that the Next Karate Kid (the one with Hilary Swank in it) is canon to the Cobra Kai universe and Danny did say that Miyagi had more than just him as a student. It's not like Hilary is against TV, as she has a new TV show coming out in like a week or 2 on ABC and previously had a Netflix show in which I don't remember anything about except that she was a scientist/astronaut who is married to Josh Charles and had a teen daughter. I don't remember who else was in the cast nor the actual plot.

She better show up in Season Six, even if a small cameo. Saw the movie on Netflix recently. Walton Goggins is in the movie.

Episode 9

“White Claw sounds badass” might be the best line in the entire series. :lmao:

I just finished episode 8 so I don't have much longer to go but does anyone else think of Jon Voight in Anaconda whenever Terry Silver shows up?

Yeah, this was definitely the best one yet and coming off of Season 4 that's high praise.
Macchio has never been better than in this season. It was nice to see a softer side of Johnny too.

It felt like the kids took a backseat this season besides the main four (Miguel, Robby, Sam and Tory). If I had one criticism from this season, it could have used more Hawk and Demetri.

The Jessica cameo in Ep 5 was a nice touch. I'm hoping she comes back for Season 6.

Ditto for Mike Barnes. It was cool to see him teaming up with the good guys.

The main MVP though? None other than...

That fight scene in Episode 10 topped the S2 school fight for me and Chozen vs. Silver was the highlight.

But yeah, this felt like a finale. Season 6 has to be the last one but the only real big stop to pull out is Hilary Swank and there needs to be a fight scene between her and Kim.

The one major loose end that's left to clear up is Kreese and funny enough, they didn't even need to do the elaborate prison escape since Stingray's testimony to the police would've cleared Kreese anyway but they just had to do a Michael Myers type scene with him, lol. But I'm not ready to say goodbye to Silver as the main big bad, and I know I'm not alone in that. He's been so good on this show that I really hope he's got one last trick up his sleeve.

I think they will cast someone to play Tori's mom but not Hilary Swank. That would be against type for this show and the show is really good at giving us updates on the characters from the movies and if the actors are alive in real life, their characters are alive in canon, sure they don't have perfect lives, but are still alive as in walking, breathing and talking. Besides the main characters of Danny, Johnny, Kreese and Silver, we saw updates on Ali, Kumiko, Chozen, Yuna (the girl Danny rescued during a rainstorm in the second movie) as well as

Jessica and Mike in season five. Also Chozen becoming an ally and friend to Danny after their first encounter in 30 years in season 4, which was well done in which Chozen said after their fight, he wanted to kill himself but his uncle Sato gave him a second chance and asked Danny for forgiveness, which Danny accepted.

None of the returns from the movies were forced, so I suspect that they will find a way to bring back Hilary's character in a way that isn't forced. She's been doing more TV/Streaming in recent years. If I remember correctly, Hilary didn't know about Cobra Kai until season 4.

Just finished it and first 4 episodes were a little slow but it gets going in ep 5

when Larusso son said they calling me ####head. Sorry I lost it lolol

And when Barnes, Lawrence , Chosen and Daniel were arguing what to do after Barnes took em on a joy ride Daniel thinking Chosen would side with him and he goes I know Silvers address lol he was ready for all the smoke

Sam continues to be the worst sometimes like MAKE UP YOUR MIND

I'm pretty much up to the finale. Terry Silver is a fantastic villain. Thomas Ian Griffith just has great charisma.

Chozen is also stealing the show.

Love that Chozen and Johnny connected immediately. It's stunning. If you told me ages ago that I'd be more invested in Chozen and Johnny than Daniel, I'd laugh yet here we are.

Completed the one day binge yesterday! That’s got to be the best season to date. Started a little slow but once it got going it gave me everything I wanted. The second half of the season is non-stop fun.

Is season 6 definitely confirmed to be the last one? Makes sense given where we’re at at this point.

Also, Johnny playing Billy Idol instead of Billie Elish! :lmao:
I can just imagine the moment when whoever thought of that idea came up with it. :D Johnny allows so many random dumb jokes thought of day to day to actually be implemented in the show.
