Jeff Bridges + pistol + cigarette in mouth = most badass thing on this Earth as of now

Is that a bear riding a horse? As if I needed another reason to see this.

I love the end of the trailer with Jeff and his revolver right before it says True Grit.
Agreed. It just oozes badassery.

I also like how he says "We?"

Yeah, that bears head on top of whoever's body was a surprise but it's so badass and soooo Coen Brothers when you think of it.

It looks like the girl is going to be able to hold her own with Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon.

I think she'll be fine, with the potential to be great. Just based on the trailers, I'd have to agree with you. She holds up very well to the acting icons around her.

After those trailer, I say the film has some great chances at the Oscars. For now Best Picture and Cinematography are a lock. More than great chances for Adapted Screenplay and Leading Actor, and good chances for Supporting Actor, Art, Costume, Sound Mixing...

My premature guess is Best Picture will boil down to a race between True Grit, The King's Speech, and The Social Network.

For now TKS looks like the 'big' countender. Social Network is loves by fans and critics but the Academy is not mutch of a fan of young. True Grit if it's what it looks to be, can be a big countender.

This looks tremendous.

Any chance someone could turn that first picture of Bridges into an avvy for me?

I guarantee this is winning Best Picture.

I wouldn't put money on that. The original is a classic and most of the Academy voters are going to be very skeptical about a remake of a moive they gave John Wayne the Oscar for.

I think it has a great chance at technical awards. It will be nominated for best picture. But being nominated for any of the other big awards, much less winning them, it will be a dark horse candidate.

The contenders for best picture right now are The King's Speech as straightforward Oscar bait (though I'll probably see it), followed by The Social Network. Rabbit Hole and Black Swan are also secondary contenders that could move up after they open nationally and we se what most people actually think of them. 127 Hours and True Grit look like they'll be dark horses in this campaign.

This should not have been made!

What's wrong with people? Can't they be bothered to watch old classics? They have to depend on Hollywood to remake them over and over again? It'll never measure up to the original! I'm boycotting it and hope it fails!

Just kidding...I had to use some of that stuff people were throwing at Let Me In. ;) Big fan of the Coen's....I'm be there opening weekend. (But I will say I don't envy Bridges' job...following John Wayne?)

Can't remember the last time I was excited about a Western just based on source material and previews alone. "Tombstone" was the last time, I think. It's been a long time, but this seems worth the wait, especially since I loved the original.

Awesome trailer. Can't wait to see this!

Never saw the 1969 version but 2010 looks like a damn good movie.
