Love the casting of Farrell. He's actually got a couple of Batman connections. He was directed by Joel Schumacer in Phone Booth with Rachel Dawes, Katie Holmes. He was also considered for Wolfgang Peterson's Batman v Superman ...as Bruce Wayne.

I'm actually not surprised Reeves went with a slender actor as Penguin. The only fat Penguin we've had in live action was Devito. Meredith and Robin Lord Taylor were both on the slender side.

Penguin's early appearance in 1941 really wasn't an obese guy , so there is precedence for a more slender Oswald. Farrell may end up wearing a fat suit much like Devito, but I actually don't think he needs to be fat.

This is legitimately awful casting. All of the other casting so far though is savage and totally on point. Love the idea of Pattinson, Kravitz, Dano, Wright, and Serkis. Colon farrell though is a total strike out and non-starter. He is a decent actor but is totally wrong for Penguin. A more unique and interesting angle should have been attempted. Alas Reeves is a great director so let’s see what he does

He's undergone a transformation before and if he doesn't want to he can just wear a fatsuit.

He's a solid actor, so no worries there. I just hope he has the top hat, tux, monocle, and trick umbrellas. These are musts for the character. They can always give him a belly. After all most artists don't draw Penguin as outright fat, just with a belly.

Tux or white tie? Penguin is actually rarely depicted wearing a tuxedo. He is usually depicted wearing tails, aka white tie.
