Colin Farrell IS The Penguin

Freaky-Conan-O-Brien-Face.gif

Conan had a segment a few years back with Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul where they each practiced their "death stare" and for the life of me I've not been able to find it.

Conan's my favorite talk show host of all time and that will never change.

I never got the appeal about him. Annoying as f*ck and equal to Fallon

Leno
Ferguson
Letterman
Arsenio Hall

And people said "He will be the slim Penguin!"

The guy will have more three weeks of prep before shooting. This look is very mobster, Al Capone inspired.

I wish Andy was the main host and Conan the sidekick. I did like Conan for a while during the "year 2000" segments days though

hope he gets a theme like this :)

I admit, not feeling the Giacchino choice for this movie. I know, he and Matt are partners, but... still prefer guys like Ramin Djawadi, Thomas Newman or Gustavo Santaolalla

I think he's done great work on the Apes and Mission: Impossible movies, but his Marvel stuff is weak. Dr. Strange in particular, where it just sounds like B-sides from his work on Star Trek.

He really looks like he could do a great penguin grunt

Conan did get a bit stale when he moved to TBS, but his old stuff on NBC was gold.

1. Conan
2. Ferguson
3. Letterman
4. Leno

Today's late night hosts are all terrible, though Fallon has his moments.

I didn't mind Fallon when he first started out, but the more I watched the clearer it became that he wasn't at all interested in improving as a host. Which is probably why his show relies so heavily on playing games with the guests. He's also indirectly responsible for giving us James Corden, as I'm convinced his show is inspired by Fallon.

I used to like Kimmel, but I find he's become too mean spirited and smarmy. Or, maybe he's always been like that, it's just I've become turned off by the snidess of it as I've gotten older.

Conan's show is all about himself, and I guess that's fine if you really like him, but I find he gets tiresome.

Colbert is fine, but his surrounding show is dull. Seth Meyers can be pretty good, but his show spends way too much time virtue signalling.

I think Graham Norton might have the best show, since he manages to create a sense of fun with his guests that doesn't feel contrived.

Worst host is Lilly Singh. I've tried giving her a chance, but she's insufferable.

I've been thinking about it and other than Pattinson, Colin Farrell as Penguin is my favorite piece of casting. I've always been a fan of Farrell and this is such a great stretch of his career. I really can't wait to see what he does with the role.

True Detective was one of his best roles too. A miserable, self loathing cop who acts as an informant for a mob boss. Say what you want about season 2, but he was amazing. That and his work with Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster, Killing of a Sacred Deer) is why I’m so confident in Colin playing Oz.

Anyone who hasn't seen In Bruges, should watch that right away. Brilliant movie and Farrell is fantastic in it.
Yes, it’s really great. I’ve always liked Farrell.

seems like there's a pattern there. Might have to do with the people running the show

Yeeeep. Let's be honest, most of the MCU's soundtracks are weak.

And as I've pointed out numerous times over the past three years since Reeves was brought onboard for this film, Giacchino always seems to bring out his absolute best work when teaming up with either him or JJ Abrams. His work on the Apes films was terrific IMO.
