Colin Farrell IS The Penguin

Everyone's talking about Richard Kind and Tony Soprano, etc. Meanwhile I'm sitting here and somehow getting major Nixon vibes from his look. :funny: Shows you how odd and removed my reference points are.
He does look a lot like the Nixon from Watchmen.

So the set photos of him with white hair and everything, what's that all about?

I'm still in shock that is Colin. The makeup is just mind blowing. He is a spot on Penguin, and he looks exactly as I hoped he would! This is the crime boss Penguin I wanted for years now! Devito was great in Batman Returns, but the Penguin wasn't comic accurate in that movie and in this one, it looks like we are finally getting that. I wonder if we'll see the Iceberg lounge at some point in the trilogy?

Wow.

Yeah, that's a complete transformation right there. Reminded me of Richard Kind which, yeah, ironic since he was in Gotham.

Honestly, with Reeves having his own, personal Bat-sandbox to play around in, I'm curious to see what other villains he could take for a spin.

I think he looks like a cross between Richard Kind and James Gandolfini, but that might just be Farrell's performance.. I wonder if the Iceberg Lounge will be in this and might have a slight "Bada Bing" vibe.

So I guess its fair to say that by the end of the film the Falcone and Maroni crime families are gone, and low level Oswald takes advantage of that...

At the crime scene, a cop is taking a picture of a framed newspaper cover about "MARONI DRUG BUST", so we know Maroni exists.

Colin took this role because he was likely offered a 3 picture deal, with proper development in character and screentime.

The makeup makes the actor disappear, so I can see why they would want Jonah and then go to such a different actor like Colin and still make it work. Colin was the best choice.

Yeah, when Farrell was cast I thought we'd be getting sexy Penguin. Which I would have been okay with because Farrell is that gifted of an actor. But boy am I glad we got this instead. I love how he looks. I think he's gonna give a great performance.

If we get a fully fleshed out Penguin over 3 films rising to major gang boss I’m going to love it.
