So everybody thinks that the last 6 episodes might very well decide the fate of the show. If the ratings are good enough even Disney will have no excuse not to pick it up for at least another season.

My friends! I think it is time to spread the word about this show. We gotta leave posts and comments on message boards or write to spider-man related or animation sites and let them know about this or ask them to post something indicating that the new episodes will air in October. Personally I have been writing to spidermancarwlspace.com and left hundreds of posts on relevant websites (actually whenever you see the name Persian-spider or Persian or Mehrabix praising the Spectacular Spider-man, that is me!)
A good example is what i posted recently at crawlspace:

http://www.spidermancrawlspace.com/wordpress/2009/09/02/sony-releases-spider-man-tv-rights-to-marvel/#comments

I even sent an email to spidermancarwlspace.com's manager Mr. Brad Douglas asking him to do something about it:

Dear Mr. Douglas,
This is Persian-Spider the loyal fan of your site and its wonderful podcasts.
Sir I have a request. You see what I am gonna tell you is urgent and it concerns the Spectacular spider-man Show on Disney XD. I wanted to post my questions on the message boards and, through that, let you guys know that the beloved show is in danger but the thread is locked. Guess I am late as usual. This awesome show is in danger of cancellation and has not been picked up for another season. The series has currently stopped production with a renewal dependant upon the ratings for season 2 on the Disney XD channel and the sales of the DVDs.
I want you sir to please use your site to somehow help the show by letting the fans know that it is currently on Disney XD or that they should buy the complete first season DVD to convince the those greedy executives at Sony or Disney. The show is just too good to be discontinued. What really irritates me is that not even Marvel is promoting it anymore. We really gotta do something.

And my heated debates with naysayers over at toonzone forums cost me my membership there! I am banned from posting there because I was always trying to promote the show any chance I got! And I am not even American or living in the Europe! I live in Iran and there is no such thing as DVD shops in my country but I visited Dubai last month and bought any Spectacular spider-man DVD I could find (including the complete first season) just to support the show (and I know that what I did might not even count!) I even started the rumor that Disney is going to air the season 2 episodes with additional footage to perhaps get those who have already seen the season 2 episodes to watch them again and help the ratings (remeber the thread Disney XD to air the new episodes of the Spectacular Spider-man with additional never-before seen footage) I pretty much started the thread Spectacular Spider-man Vs. Batman TAS to draw more attention to the show.

I believe we should not only watch the show on Disney XD but let others know just what a great show they are missing.

Come on guys! It is time to act!

P.S: I would like to reiterate that I don’t wanna claim whatever I have tried to do to help the show has actually been of any help or that my methods are effective. I just wanna say that considering my limited knowledge of show biz and the limited resources I have at my disposal, I am doing whatever I can. I just know thatI love Spider-man and this show. The same is true about you. What we do might amount to nothing at the end, but at least we tried!

I am really glad to see that someone is taking initiative and really trying to help and save this show. One cannot accomplish anything by discussing how great this show was, and waiting to see how things turn out to be, even though we don't have any power or authority to change their final decision, it's a nice thing to try. Many great shows were canceled in the past, while bad ones endured. I really hope this will not be the case.
My only question would be: How should we contribute in saving this show? ...when Disney and Sony have no intention of doing that. Until now this show has been miserably presented, has not be advertised internationally, and it was shown poorly (with all that network change, and these gaps).
I would only say that I live in Europe and that here not a single DVD was published of this show.

Well, I can say that it has been dubbed and aired in France.

But officially there is no a region 2 dvd release of season 1.

Yeah, there's no DVDs of it here in Ireland. I've searched everywhere.

Speaking of DVDs, can someone explain to me why there seems to be a bundle for the entire first season as well as individual DVDs that contains 3-4 episodes, but that each individual DVD is almost at the same price as the bundle???

The DVD's that only had 3-4 episodes were released first. The full season came out later.

I have to say, it's REALLY great to see someone trying thier hardest to do something about this. I've been trying hard to get things for this show to get a 3rd season, but I actually plan on buying more Spectacular Spider-Man merchandise today or tomorow. I already have alot of TSSM figures, but I'll be buying more of those random ones that have nothing to do with the show, etc. I'll buy that 12" TSSM figure as well.

Btw, I own all the volumes as well as the complete first season.

What might help is an actual physical letter writing campaign. It's a lot easier to delete or put off an email than ignore a stack of angry fan mail staring you in the face. Anyone have the physical mailing addresses for the people who might have the power to do something? I'll start looking as well.

As I said above, one of the things we can do is to send email to some spider-man related sites. They can inform their visitors of the importance of watching the last 6 episodes on Disney XD. I once provided a list of these sites which I am gonna copy/paste again below. My recommendation is that we write an email to each and every one of them.

The problem with this plan is that the majority of people who would read those websites are older teens and adults. SSM's target demographic is 9-14. Those are the only ratings that count.

There only the target demo because they go out and buy the toys, games, and dvds. Its highly doubtful they have a nielson box in thier house to track thier ratings.

So watching the show means nothing unless you have a box thats tracks what your watching. With that if you want this show to stay on the air. You must buy the products advertised(this tells them people are watching), the Spider-man products, and you can write Sony Animation and Disney. The write-in thing has worked once before with Kim Possible.

With this Marvel/Disney deal I woudn't worry about the show.

Yea with the disney merger it would be silly for the show to be dropped and more now that sony gave marvel/disney the tv-animation rights to spidey back to marvel.

that's great! thanks alot! but that's a start now we need even more people to do the same thing!
NO problem! Brad from Crawl Space just repsoned back saying he'll do his part. He's basically in charge of Crawl Space.

good news! i have written to crawl space myself. now they are going to make spectacular spidey a topic for their thrice monthly podcast. then people will listen to it and at least they will know that the show will be back in October and and that the show needs to be watched as much as possible. you see, this is something!

i wish more people would write these sites ! come on guys!

Glad to help! Love the show.
Do we have physical addresses? I want to send a letter to the people at Sony TV

Now, the target may be 9-14. Yes, I don't think many 9-14 write letters to TV executives... and on the other hands 9-14 may watch the show, but it is the parents who have the money to buy the stuff (for their children or themselves) and the remote control :)

Henry Jones Jr.

Well it doesnt matter now with sony tv. if you have been following the news, sony gave marvel/disney the tv rights for spiderman(meaning now marvel can do what they want on tv with spidey) but sony still keeeps the film rights for how ever long that will be. So if you want to write anyone it would be marvel and disney. I dont think we have anything to really worry about. The show has done very well on DXD disney wants more male viewers(which they now will get with marvel's help) and toys/merch have done decent sales numbers i believe. So they are probably just want to wait to see how the last 6 episodes they got to air still for US viewers go before they commit to more. Since technically all they did when they bought second season they were just getting the airing rights and didnt have to front the bill for anything else.

You know, the only hope I have is Disney's influence. I'm pretty sure that, left to Marvel, we most certainly wouldn't be getting a 3rd season. This deal with Disney is the smartest thing Marvel has done in decades and the funny thing is, I'm pretty sure it wasn't even a deal that Marvel themselves initiated.

Kudos for your enthusiastic capacity to attempt to save this show. Trust me, by writing to Disney/Marvel you could be making a difference. I work at Turner broadcasting that handle channels such as TCM and the cartoon network channels and we get people, namely adults and parents writing in making all sorts of requests and for certain shows to be aired and yes, their words are heard and in some cases get answered.

so what are we waiting for guys? let's do it!

well i guess you would want to contact who ever is charge of television shows and/or their animation department.

that is a nice idea. But i dont think we have much to worry about. Once we know how these final 6 episodes go rating wise, and if they are around the same figures as the rest of season 2 was they will likely order more. its just a waiting game right now. But when we do get the call hopefully all the creative folks will be able and/or willing to return. Since we know all the crew guys have been off of the show since season 2 production ended by in feb of this year. Then we know of a few who have been working on a few other things. So hopefully they can return once an order is given.
