How to save this awesome show!

^I was thinking the same thing! I thought it was just my PC. It appears that the angry face comes up for every "y."

I just realize that since today is April Fool's day, that could explain why we we are seeing these angry faces.

Yeah, they vanished after April Fool's day passes according to the SHH servers.

Indeed. However guarantee or not, this show is great with alot of un-resolved issues. Unless those folks in Disney XD are selfish pigs who wish to destroy this show, they'd be un-wise to pass down an invesment oppurtunity such as this show. What other show can get them MORE money? SSM is just in Season 2, and its 10/10. They can and should expand to see how Season 3 and possibly 4 and 5 do.
I second that completely.

What happened to that online petition? I would have done it myself but I don’t know how to do it. Can somebody please do it?

yes, somebody who knows how to do this, please, do it.

I wrote the letter for it but don't know how to set up an online petition. I posted it in .doc form so whoever does could just take it and go about things.

Well, the good news is that Disney XD seems to be actively promoting Spectacular Spider-Man. The bad news is they seem to be repeating the first 3 episodes over and over again.
Any news on wether it got picked up for Season 3?

as i said before the earliest would probably be the end of the month or in may when season 2 will ever be airing there.

Those at Toonzone have noted it as a bad sign, or at least a worrisome one, that DISNEY XD has not made ratings information public. Had SS-M shattered records, they likely would have quickly boasted about it, as NickToons did with W&TXM. There also is no part of the DISNEY XD website about SS-M. While the station may be promoting it, they are faced with the dilemma of selling episodes that have already aired on a larger network for over a year. While I understand the rationale, it may not have provided a huge spark of viewers.

The only alternative was that SS-M could have done better in ratings than AARON STONE, and Disney may not want to make such information public as it would not make them look good, but that it is a vague hope. Many are believing SS-M had lukewarm or average ratings on DISNEY XD, at least in repeats. More time may be needed before they decide on more.

It may have been better had they promoted a debut of Season Two, but used the repeat schedule for Season One episodes under a "catch up" tagger. But, as someone with a logical mind, I am unqualified to work as a TV network executive or programmer. These are the type who claimed no one would ever miss STAR TREK, after all. :p

My guess is that no one there has bothered updating that section of the site since the Disney XD revamp, at least as far as what is currently new on the show (namely The Spectacular Spider-Man), I don't think they're biased against the show, at least not to that degree.

I find that hard to believe, considering that Disney XD is itching to get their brand name out there, and to be recognized more. I think they would take any possible good news they could get and acknowledge it.

Nothing against anyone here (or at toonzone), but I think you guys are hitting the panic button a little early.

Personally, I never claimed that I thought there is zero chance of a renewal. I don't think it has been long enough to assume that yet; production only officially ended about two months ago. The economy is rough right now and companies have to think long and hard before spending every penny now. I was merely stating that had SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN made ratings history for the channel, DISNEY XD would not have sat on that info.

I do think more could be done to promote it. Instead of trying to sell the show to Spider-fans of all ages, it is usually just being aimed at kids, which I think is a mistake. WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN didn't make that error. Granted, advertising may be more in Sony's wheelhouse.

Sony plans to release SPIDER-MAN 4 in 2012; that is a ways off but they should want to keep him on TV.

It's actually May 6, 2011... Still a bit off, but closer than 2012...

I think that once season 2 starts airing there will be a huge spike in ratings. I mean, I haven't been watching the season 1 airings on Disney XD (not that that'd matter, I don't have a nelson box), but that's because I have the first 3 volumes on DVD. I have seen season 2 all the way through, but on Youtube, not exactly the same as my family's big screen TV... So, when season 2 starts, I'll definitely be there in front of the TV. And I think a lot of other people will two, reguardless of whether or not they watched season 2 already.

Yea it sucks we have no clue what the heck is going on with DXD and the show. I still wished also they started season 2 earlier and all that. Maybe that is what they are waiting for with the season 2 episodes before order call. Because majority of fans had their fix of season 1 last year and only us tech savy folks knew season 2 started up early in other countries and is online for viewing while others dont.

Yeah, good thing those guys at Disney don't waste precious money in their efforts to "rebrand" Toon Disney into Disney XD. We wouldn't want them doing something like that in this economic climate. Oh wait.:whatever:

Agreed, compared to how much more Kids WB promoted the show to Disney XD is laughably sad.

Here's some examples of how much Kids WB and/or Sony put into getting the show's name out there beginning in September of 07'.

· Starting in early 2008, Sony Pictures Television and Kids’ WB!/The CW Network will launch an in-school Milk Media Campaign in 85% of all U.S. schools. The campaign will include localized tune-in information that will be featured on The Spectacular Spider-Man branded posters and book covers in the top 8-10 markets, as well as branding on nearly 40 million milk cartons.

· Kids’ WB! hosted The Spectacular Spider-Man sweepstakes, giving away 100 not-yet-released Activision "Friend or Foe" video games every hour on Sept. 22. The “Friend or Foe” games will not be available at retail until October.

· A Kids’ WB! on-air teaser campaign for the series has begun to run regularly until the series premieres in early 2008.

· An extensive "kid focused" online campaign – featuring The Spectacular Spider-Man – will be accessible at
www.kidswb.com

· A trailer for the series is featured on Sony Home Entertainment’s Spider-Man 3 DVD available at Wal-Mart beginning October 30.

After efforts like THAT is it any wonder why the first season had such phenominal ratings? (ARE YOU LISTENING DISNEY XD?)

It's not that I expect AS much promotion to be put into the show, but starting to air promos for the shows debut 3 weeks before it airs was pretty dumb IMO. At the very least the promos should've started the night Disney XD made its debut as a new brand.

Considering how much more money they paid so other networks like Nick and CN couldn't get it, they need to do a better job in terms of promoting their investment.
And considering that XD has very few fresh shows on their network they need to invest in something. Especially considering that even those few fresh shows sound like they won't have that much shelf life.
They need to invest in something, and IMO Spectacular Spider-Man is one of those fresh shows that has a chance at gaining Disney XD a form of critical success.

As a bit of an update, someone on Toonzone.net posted this ratings information about Disney XD regarding SS-M so far:

Cartoonlover from Toonzone.net said:
DISNEY XD 0.5/3 Avg. (7a-1p)

Suite Life of Zack & Cody 0.3/3; Phineas and Ferb 0.6/5; Phineas and Ferb 1.1/7; Jimmy two Shoes 0.7/3; Kid vs. Kat 0.6/2; Phineas and Ferb 0.7/3; Monster Buster Club 0.5/2; Yin Yang Yo 0.4/2; Spectacular Spider-Man 0.4/2; Spectacular Spider-Man 0.3/2; Spectacular Spider-Man 0.5/3; Aaron Stone 0.4/2

Remember, "average" ratings are a figure of 0.5/3. I am not sure what this number specifically means.

Out of the three time-slots, SS-M only meets this ratings average once. To be fair, it is doing better than AARON STONE, MONSTER BUSTER CLUB and YIN YANG YO.

Greg Wiesman has claimed on his blog that Season 2 episodes may begin airing during the summer and that is when Disney XD may make a final decision to renew or not, after seeing how those episodes do.

SS-M was probably having better ratings on CW4KIDS, but that reaches more households in general, being a network station that anyone with a TV can get for free. Disney XD paid more money than CW4Kids was interested in for the airing rights, so they are interested in the property. Considering the show is airing three times a day and the episodes in question are available on DVD and have been rerunning on TV for about a year prior, the fact that they can hit average ratings for the channel at one timeslot probably isn't too shabby. On the other hand, it's hardly a breakout hit for the station. Under-promotion and the fact that these are old episodes may help explain that.

It will be interesting to see if ratings and promotion improve when Season 2 begins airing, whenever that is.

The Wikipedia article for the cartoon has noted the critical praise it has gotten from IGN and VARIETY.

^I just about to post this Dread. dont know what the numbers mean, but someone on toonzone said its embarassing... but I give it to the fact that these episodes are old.

Disney XD is my favorite channel right now, and there's an SSM commercial on every 5 seconds... I'm glad that they are promoting the show a lot, but I wonder exactly why they are promoting it so much right now. Maybe the reception wasn't as high as anticipated. Maybe they just see how amazing the show is. Maybe...

Please they delete this show bcuz its better than spiderman tas i mean identity crisis, gangland, and final curtain alone make this beter than spiderman 3 and tas
