Hey guys,

haven't posted here for a year heh

anyway, like all of you, i watched the season 2 finale yesterday, and like all of you i thought it was genius and awesome, but at same time it made me sad that that episode could the last of the series.

so i have been thinking, rather than all of us come here to mourne the Spectacular series, and get mad why a season 3 has not been commisioned yet. i thought its better if we make a plan on how to rescue this awesome show.

So here is a small list with some actions that each one of us should do:

- Watch the show when it starts airing in disney xd, even though we have seen it already. If you are busy and can't watch it, just put the channel and tv on and leave it on while you do your things, this way the show will generate enough ratings to have a third season.

- Tell you firends! you have no idea how many people do not know that this show even exists, or they think its a kids show a la batman brave and bold. Tell them how great this show is and tell them when it is airing.

- Buy the dvd's! i know the single arc dvds are a bit annoying (although they are neat) and that most of us are waiting for the season set, i believe we should buy the single arc dvds as well. 15 bucks for a movie is not much to help make season 3. Think of it as your contribution to the show makers to give us an even more awesome episodes.

- Email sony asap and then toon disney xd when the shows starts airing. Tell them how awesome this show is and ask them for more seasons. If anyone can get us email addresses for the 2 companies it will be awesome.

- Let's get organized guys and make a difference, mourning and crying and getting pissed wont help, taking actions will.

those are my 2 cents, if you guys think there are more actions that could help, post them here. You can also post here whenever you do something you think that it is helping the show.

i have been trying to find the emails of those two companies with no luck. it would be a shame if we dont see another episode. the series is really starting to pick up.

Good ideas! I have already done most of what you have mentioned, except e-mailing Disney XD and Sony.

If you have friends with Nielsen boxes, ask them to tune into the show. Get those ratings up.

I am curious to know....if you dvr a show does it count towards the ratings? I man technically it is being watched

the fact there is no news on the third season even though the series has aired its season finale is very worrying. for pete sake 'the batman' got five seasons (FIVE!!).

SM4 is coming one year too late, almost certainly if SM4 was next year (rather than 2011) they would snap up the third season. if the show gets cancelled you wont get to see

scorpion
the spider slayers
the death of captain stacy
morbius
six armed pete

IT'S NOT FAIR!!

I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question, but I didn't know Season 2 had aired. Has it? I try to stay up to date and always check my TV schedules for info, but I have never seen it. I see that it starts on Disney XD next Monday, but they are airing Season 1 episodes. Are they showing some (all?) of them and then starting the new season?

This is only gonna work if you have a Nielsen box

No, it doesn't count towards ratings. Even though they know what you're watching, it can't be counted because that would go against privacy laws. The ONLY WAY for your viewing to count is if you are part of a Nielsen family. And even then, the only ratings that will ensure this show's continuation are ratings from people under 14. Although I suppose the 12-17 ratings wouldn't hurt either, given its timeslot.

Just to reiterate: leaving your TV on during Spectacular Spider-Man will not help the ratings in ANY way. Writing e-mails will also be useless, and written letters will barely be a drop in the bucket. (And if you do write letters, I would recommend pretending that you're a parent gushing about how much both you and your child love the show). The best thing to do is spread the word, and hope that "the word" will eventually reaches someone under 18 who is part of a Nielsen family.

What I'm wondering is does SSM actually needs saving and/or mourning? I mean, it has not started yet in the US, so there is no problem or anything. Just for info, how did Season 1 fared in the US?

For what it's worth, I was checking out Final Curtain uploaded on youtube by 3 different users since yesterday. They all had nearly a thousand views each in little over a day.

Another thing to do is to write to some of the top Spidey-related sites on the net and inform their founders and administrators about this. I am sure many spider-man fans who watched the first season on TV in the US do not know that it is in danger. These guys can let their visitors know:

^Wow, that's a lot of sites to visit and to inform the others.

Thanks Persian,
now we must spread the word :) as true fans and not just wish and dream for another season. We must act.

Yea i wanted to watch it tonight on dxd but we only have it on cable box in livin room and my jerk of a mom wouldnt let me watch it for a bit. even though as we all know it was only the first 3 episodes of season 1.

^Your mom didn't let you watch TSSM?! (GASP) What did she want to watch?

she was watching the second of 2 episodes of sex in the city on our cw affilate at 7-8pm est. Though i am 23 so watching a cartoon with my mom in the room would have been a bit silly. Though i will probably be able to watch one of the reairings even though i dont really need to.

Oh...LOL...Sorry to hear that.

Hey, I live in the east, too!

Yea i wish we had a secondary cable box so i could be using it this week on my tv while i am home on spring break from college. but money's tight right now and we only have one cable box with preium cable package and dvr.

^At least you have cable. I used to have Directv, but then my mom cut it off. Hopefully, I can convince her to put it back on when season two airs. I would like to record the season two episodes on the Tivo.:yay:

Yea i used to have my own dvr but when i was at school was given to one of my sisters and i would get it on breaks and all that. but money is tight and my dad is always late paying the cable bill so we decided to return the other boxs we had and only go with one with the preium stuff and then me and my sisters just have the standard cable wire into tv and get channels 2-98.

^Still a whole lot better than what I have. I have only prime-time TV shows or local channels. Channels 4, 5, 7, 9, 14, 20, 26, and 32.

ouch thats the wrost i never had that besides. always had cable in some form or another.
