I know a lot of you are are saying 'come on there are no comic book films as bad as that stinking turd.' I realize how ungodly evil Batman & Robin may be but in my humble opinion there are actually two comic book films worse than Batman & Robin.
And they are;
Judge Dredd (1995)
Boy where do I start with this one? Instead of going on a huge rant against this pile of muck I will just list a few of my complaints.
1: Too much humour. What should have been a dark satire IE Robocop but with more political overtones we get this a toned down over the top action film with nonstop humour . Especially from Rob Schneider His character serves no purpose other than comic relief you cant have two minutes without him cracking a bad joke or other pitiful attempts at humour. It was unnecessary and it brings the film down.
2: The trademark of Judge Dredd is that you never see his face. Therefore making him a mysterious character, just a symbol of law and justice. Yet in the film he is helmetless for the majority of the film and the film also tried to humanise hm. Bad mistake and it took a lot away from the character
3:Too tame . Instead of being a hard R this film even though R rated was meant to be PG-13 and feels like it it.
4: Judge Dredd himself. Instead of being the law obsessed stoic emotionless symbol of law. This film tries to humanize Dredd, we have Dredd cracking bad jokes, a love interest and him smiling.
5: The script. The film also boasts one the laziest scripts ever to be turned into film, it is nothing more than a silly action film to appeal to teenagers and has a lot of goofs, bad writing and awful dialogue.
I could ramble on for several pages with my distaste for this film but these are just the top five things that annoyed me.
The Guyver (1991)
The epitome of bad comic book movies.
This is why.
1: Bad acting
2: Unfunny comic relief
3: Lacklustre boring action scenes
4 : Not violent enough or dark enough
5: dreadful script.
So what are your comic book films that you feel are worse than Batman & Robin?
