Grant Morrison's New X-Men run. Some of the ideas he had were cool, but overall his run's only reason for staying in-continuity was the Scott/Emma/Jean storyline, because it was something that the characters needed to do before either Scott or Jean were forced to become evil or die or go into the future in order to spice up their relationship.
