The other thread is great and very in depth, and for further information I recommend you check it out. But hopefully this will give a general idea of what comics to read based on this boards recommendations.
I took a few out of the race:
Dark Victory
The Dark Knight Returns
The Killing Joke
The Long Halloween
Year One

Because these seem to universally be the favorites and I wanted to dig a little deeper.
---------
I do know that the list is not complete, there are a lot of different stories out there and it would take up too much room I think and wouldn't be helpful. I searched through the threads and these SEEMED to be most frequently mentioned TPB. I apologize if I left out your favorite.
------------
Incidently, I picked my top 4, that might be a good limit.

From these?
||Batman And The Mad Monk
||Batman and the Monster Men
||A Lonely Place of Dying
||The Cult

the "suck list" contains of "The Dark Knight Strikes Again", "Arkham Asylum" and "Identity Crisis".

A Death In The Family and Robin Year one!

Batgirl: Year One-
Awesome art! A great Barbara Gordon retelling.

Batman And The Mad Monk-
Matt Wagner--nice!

Batman and the Monster Men
See above.

Catwoman: When in Rome
Tim Sale's art (and art only)--nice!

No Man's Land-
Epic! A crossover done right. At least, in TPB form that is.

Robin: Year One-
Great art and Chuck Dixon at the helm.

The Man Who Laughs-
:up:

Great idea! my favorite out all those is Bruce Wayne: Murderer?

Gothic and The Cult. Those are pretty underrated, in my opinion.

Gothic was very good in my opinion Morrison's best work on Batman. However I still pick A Death in the Family because of how big an impact there was.

I voted

Death in the Family
Legends of the Dark Knight
Demon & Son
Robin Hero Reborn
The Cult
Dark Knight Strikes Again
Under the Hood

Gotta say, Knightfall. It's still the biggest Bat-epic ever, and two awesome villains in Bane and the new Batman. I love it. The first two volumes atleast, Knightsend is basically just one fight scene after another.

Not read DKSA, but "Arkham Asylum" and "Identity Crisis" are both great.
