Commando remake

The original is awful... in a good way. So I really would't mind it being remade. As long as they don't cast Cena. (Or any other wrestler.)

I'd rather watch my parents have sex than see this be remade

Yea, now that you mention it... I would also rather watch your parents have sex then to see this remade.

In the remake they have to hire a guy who looks like an overweight Freddy Mercury, for the muscle to the main badguy.

I saw the original movie not long ago and couldn't stop laughing - not because it was bad but because it was campy as hell. It was awesome, too bad they don't make movies like this anymore.

Arnold lifting up a phone booth with a guy in it: win
Arnold breaking out of a multi-guy hold on him: win
Arnold's "Remember I told you I'd kill you last? I lied.": win
Arnold pushing over Sully's car and saying "we have a car now": win
Arnold and the guy fighting in the hotel room with the couple having sex in the next room: win
Same scene above and the girl says "These guys eat too much red meat!": win
Arnold & girl breaking into a store and swiping all the guns: win
Girl firing the rocket launcher backwards, then forwards: win

Man there are so many! Near the end where Arnold is firing his guns left and right to kill the mercs was totally over-the-top in terms of the "flying bad guy" stunts.

This movie kicked all kinds of ass! What could a remake possibly add?

David Ayer Does A "Commando" Remake

By Garth Franklin Wednesday June 15th 2011 02:10PM
"I eat Green Berets for breakfast. And right now, I'm very hungry."
One of the quintessential action movies of the 80's, "Commando" basically involved Arnold Schwarzenegger dropping one-liners every minute, and single-handedly decimating the entire military force of a small Central American island nation in his quest to rescue his kidnapped daughter and kill the Australian madman in a fishnet vest who took her.
Now producer John Davis tells Collider that "Training Day" writer/director David Ayer has penned a script for a remake and wants to direct it. Davis says:
"We have a really great script. You know, I don’t know if it really makes sense to call it Commando. Maybe it does or maybe doesn’t. It is the reboot of it and all of that stuff. It is David Ayer, who did Training Day. He wrote it and wants to direct it. It is there and it is a brilliant script. It is just waiting for the right moment for the studio to want to make it and finding the right actor… Right now the script that is written is a hard R."
What this new incarnation will look like is anyone's guess. Even for its time "Commando" was gloriously over the top and cartoonish. Would Ayer's version opt for a completely different and more serious tone? Would anyone want to see a "Commando" without the silliness?

I think the idea for this movie is fine for something that's it's own thing, but not a remake of Commando. Commando is a classic of '80s Action and should be left untouched.

Commando was awesome because the movie didnt take itself seriously AT ALL. It was all tongue-in-cheek and over the top cheesiness. I mean, Vernon Wells who played Bennett described him as Freddy Mercury on steroids. How awesome is that?!

The "remake" will most likely have more in common with Taken than it will with its namesake.

Id still watch it though.

Arnie & Alyssa Milano need to have cameos in the remake.
