I agree.

I guess they are concerned that it will be confused with a the show of a certain red-haired entertainer.:woot:

I completely agree - "Conan" would have been a better choice.

I think it would have been cool if it was Conan The Cimmerian or Conan Of Cimmeria to set it apart from the previous one. There are so many cool names you could use for Conan though, look at the post REH pastiches.

The pics look awesome.

But honestly, if I have a complaint its that he's too good-looking. Conan is supposed to be a rough looking beast of a man. Momoa is sort of rough looking, kind of, but...he's beautiful. I'll just come right out and say it.

I've been reading pretty much all of the Conan books over the past few months, and its just not the right kind of look. I don't look at Momoa Conan and go "oh crap, Conan is coming and he's going to kill everyone I know". It'd be more like "oh crap, Conan is coming, he's probably gonna bang my wife".

Still, I do think he looks cool and hope he kicks ass in the role. I wanna know what Nephron thinks about the pics.

That's the description one would also give to Barry W. Smith's renderings of Conan. The youthful Conan, as Hood explained. Not the rougher King Conan, yet. In the other films, as Momoa grows older in between films he'll start looking rougher around the edges(plus bulking up more), just like it happened to Clint Eastwood.

Hmmm ... Not sure about the look of this new Conan. Not bad, but I think I'm still used to Arnold (I probably need to move on).

Screenwriter Sean Hood talks about "Conan The Barbarian". Very encouraging interview:

Very off-putting interview. I don't like that guy very much. Too arrogant.

First off, when movie executives decide to hire me as a writer, let’s say on Stigmata 2, they do it because they have read screenplays I’ve written for movies that never got made. That screenplay in your drawer? Yeah, I’ve got a dozen of those, and the primary reason I get work is that mine are better.

rewriting the script while filming the movie? At least 35% and close to 50% of the script was rewritten during filming?

Not a good sign.
