What a surprise. The guys harping all week on all their concerns don't want to use this thread because there's nobody in here being positive for them to smother.

Rock, are you really telling posters where to post? :funny:

I'm worried about the luke-warm critic response so far.

Then again I enjoyed the first one more than most critics.

yeah, the vast majority of reviews i've read so far are pretty positive. Even the negative ones admt the movie's pretty entertaining.

There will be the same naysayers. I just don't pay alot attention to them.

My only concerns are the runtime and the aftermath of the chaos that will happen in the movie.

My only concern is just avoiding spoilers.
So far, so good.

My main concern is the length of Thor's hair.

I don't know what he means by "luke warm" response the majority of reviews have been 4/5's.

My primary concerns are the movie being two short, and thus certain characters being shafted, like Sif and the Warriors 3 AGAIN. Also, Malekith apparently have little to no real motivation beyond being crazy is concerning. I also heard that he's not in the movie all that much, but I don't know if that's true or not.

I agree! Some people on the threads keep saying stuff like 'oh the reviews are mixed or luke-warm', but really when you sit down and read the reviews MOST of them are 4/5 which is great.

Sure, most of the reviewers (even the 4/5 reviews) agree on some elements such as Malekith needing more development, the story about this Aether and Convergence is a little scientific 'mumbo-jumbo' and some of the supporting characters needed more screentime like Sif & Warriors Three, but really... that seems to be it in terms of MAIN flaws. They seem to agree that everything else is great such as the humour (even though some reviewers thought it was a little too much at times), action scenes (especially the third act), special effects, improved Asgard, Frigga getting more to do, Loki & Thor relationship, Jane's character being slightly improved from first film etc

Overall I think the reviews are saying that this film is better than the first Thor film and is the best MCU sequel yet as it is better than Iron Man 2 & 3, but Thor 2 doesn't COMPLETELY take the Thor franchise to the next level dramatically like X-Men 2 or Spider-Man 2 did.

I'm concerned the comedy will compromise the tone like it did in IM3.

The MCU movies seems to be doing this in all theirs since Avengers.

Serious tone and scenes followed by joke cracking then back to serious scenes with another joke thereafter.

The balance is wrong and timing needs to be perfect for this type of filmmaking to work.

The humor for TDW seems to be well recieved,
And, A:AOU looks to be pretty serious.

I personally prefer the "next level" film to be either the first or third film in a trilogy. Yeah X2 and Spider-Man 2 took their films to the next level but their 3rd films failed to keep them there.

So for this franchise I want Thor 3 to be that "next level" film and FINALLY give CAB fans an amazing 3rd film.

That's another thing that doesn't worry me about the humor, most reviewers are actually praising it.

Of course fanboys have this seething hatred for humor in CAB films that I don't quite grasp.

For me , the ultimate in Campy Humor in a Genre film would be something like
Star Trek V.
Nothing in any Marvel film has approached that level of campiness, IMO.

Im really excited about this. I liked Thor least out of the phase 1 movies it really didnt resonate with me, but since the Avengers i've renewed interested bigger than ever in the MCU, the spark that started with IM1!

To those complaining about the amount of jokes.in the movies, pull the stick out of your rear end. You wanna see some movies that take themselves too seriously, watch Underworld and... see how enjoyable that is.

All of the ONE films released since A1? :word:

That's what I've been thinking, why is everyone acting like Marvel's released several films since TA?

Because people believe what they want to believe usually. They want something to be so, and therefore it IS so in their minds. They believe it therefore it MUST be an objective reality. They would say they are not imposing their view, they are simply see the world as it truly is. But in fact, they are just seeing that which they view through their own personal lens. That MARVEL STUDIOS has only released one film since A1 is just a fact. Yet there are many who comment as though the majority of PHASE 2 has already come and gone. (sigh)
