Confirmed - Bioshock on PS3!

LOL.

Hmmm isn't Atlus/Nippon Ichi also third party? LOL I don't see Disgaea 3 on the 360. That angered a lot of people because the graphics could be done on the Wii and the 360. But it won't happen by their admission. What I'm trying to say is there are many factors at play that can sometimes make third party developers make it so that their games don't appear on any other console, which coincides with the strategy of first and second party developers (like Bioware. Well, technically Bioware is independent. Mass Effect 1 is 2nd party but the series can go any which way in the future. It won't but it could..technically). Hmmm on second thought, I'm sure Bioware signed a deal to make all 3 for the 360. They are being paid well, so it doesn't make sense to make deals on a piecemeal basis. Whatever happened to the conversation on Bioshock? Did we all agree that it's likely to go multiplat or what?

Rumor Control: Bioshock For PS3 (Spring 2008?)

The Tengu Restaurant was the site of lively conversation tonight, and like any lively conversation, there are some bits that are worth repeating

PSU learned while talking to developers at the dinner that Bioshock, the game that won the 2007 Game Critics Award for Best Action game, will be coming to the PS3 sometime in the near future.

BioShock is a title from 2K that fuses a scary atmosphere illustrated with horrific scenes, a deep storyline with an open-ended freedom to interact with anything and anyone, and a gameplay facet which incorporates actual thinking instead of raw gun power and a Hell Mary. Originally announced for all next generation consoles, BioShock appeared to be shaping up into an amazing multiplatform adventure. Soon after on September 26th, 2006, Microsoft announced that BioShock would be “released exclusively to the X-Box 360 and PC platforms this spring” at their X06 event. Soon after, Take Two Interactive released a press statement detailing BioShock's exclusivity: “2K is excited to release BioShock exclusively on Xbox 360 and under the Games for Windows brand on the PC.”

There was positive discussion almost to the point of confirmation that this title would hit for the PlayStation 3 next spring. While there have been various sources since X06 that claimed a PS3 version was in development, it would seem not a question of whether it's true at this point, but when it will happen. Despite our confidence in the integrity of our information however, we must emphasize that this is still a rumor, and Take Two has not officially confirmed this with us yet.

Wait a minute. Xbox 360 fans do the same damn thing with Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy XIII. What's the difference?

no ,the xbox fans want those games (mainly to **** over sony) ps3 fans on the other hand are so short of good games they wait with baited breath for a game that will be available on 360 at least 6 months before it hits the ps3. It speaks volumes about the state of the ps3's software at the moment

I give up. Technically, NCSoft is third party but there is no way in hell they are developing for the 360. So, the chance of their games and Mass Effect switching platforms is the same...zilch. Hmmm I guess they should be considered first party now but no money switched hands, so it's just like a Rockstar type of thing. "I'll make game A...I promise it will be exclusive."

Believe me, money is always involved. Companies don't give away exclusives for free. GTA3 was apparently shown on Xbox before Sony purchased a long-term exclusivity deal that pushed back the Xbox version YEARS.

There are plenty enough of good to great PS3 games coming out, and all the titles that were essentially defacto 360 exclusives from third parties are now starting to hit PS3 as well with the third parties catching up on the PS3. People just would like Bioshock because it's going to be a great game.

No offense, but that statement is rather stupid :o

Both Xbox and Playstation fans act this way. They act like it with Bioshock, Mass Effect, Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII, etc.

I'm an Xbox fan (current Xbox owner and future 360 owner) and I want Metal Gear and FF because they are awesome games. Who gives a damn about screwing over Sony?

Thank you for proving my point.

BioShock Trailer Premiers Sunday On Spike TV
While it seems to me there have been no end of BioShock trailers like this one or this one or this one, 2K Games has one last trailer for their spooky underwater adventure in store for us. The catch? We have to tune in to Spike TV on the night of Sunday the 12th to see it. All I can say is this had better be a damn fine piece of video game commercial film for me to want to take time out of my busy Sunday schedule of sitting around on my ass to flip the channel to Spike at 9PM Eastern to watch for 60 seconds. They'd need something like a surprise announcement from Game Head's Geoff Keighley for that to happen.

In addition, the trailer debut will close with a surprise announcement by Game Head's Geoff Keighley. You won't want to miss this!

Alas, no PS3 anouncement. For those with a 360, the demo is up.

Which is why I have both systems. I'm not a scrambeler. I'll take what I want and leave what I want.

Honestly, I think having both a PS3 and a X360 is a good combo to have.

I recomend it to anyone. Get both. Be happy.

Exunctly. I really don't understand the console wars, and how people will argue till their fingers bleed over which console is better.

End of the day, both 360 and PS3 are good systems, with the 360 being better at this point in time, and yet wars are waged over them, when at the end of the day, they're just something you can go out and buy in the shop. If your worried the PS3 might fail, its not like you live in Germany and you've just lost WW2, just go buy a 360 and be happy.

I'm not even interested in Bioshock, but the PS3 version is the worst kept secret in the industry since the Xbox 360 elite. There was a full preview of the PS3 version of Bioshock in a European game magazine a few months ago, but that was before Microsoft had finalized the deal to make Bioshock time-exclusive, and so they had to print a retraction in the next issue, and now the producers have gone mum about the PS3 version all together. But recently, the producer was asked about it and said (paraphrased) "If I talk about that right now, my bosses will spank me."

I think everyone knows it's coming to PS3. Personally, I am not interested in the game anyway, but it's still an interesting story to follow none-the-less.

Actually from what I've seen, when a Playstation exclusive goes to the Xbox, the Playstation are like WTFARRRRGH!!:cmad: and the Xbox fans' reaction is dependent on if it's a game they like. If it's not that good, it's  . If it's good then it's :woot:

Then, if an Xbox exclusive goes to the Playstation, the Playstation fans are all :wow: :woot: And the Xbox fans are

Yeah, your right on the way the fanboys act when a game loses exclusitivity.

But I'm talking about how Playstation 3 owners want games like Bioshock and Mass Effect and how Xbox 360 owners want games like Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy XIII. Therefore, hippy fascists statement of Playstation 3 owners scrambling for the Xbox 360's crumbs is just downright stupid. Both fans act that way.

You do realize that "preview" was in a Playstation magazine? Exactly how credible do you think that is when it was still just a rumor at that point? At this point in time, as the developers have said, all resources are focused on the Xbox 360 version and there's no PS3 version in development. And there might not be depending on if they feel it is profitable or not to release the game on the PS platform long after it has already launched on the 360 and PC.

They are contractually required to deny the PS3 version's existance. This is a tactic that MS has employed in the past with games like Splinter Cell.

How do you know? It might very well be as they say it is, which is that at this time there is no PS3 version in existence. I'll believe the words from the developer's mouth before I believe a rumor in a Playstation mag.

Because not everyone can afford that. Thats the minority of people who can go out and blow over $700 on the systems alone, then you figure in the games, accessories, thats about $1000 or more. Not a lot of people are willing to or can afford to shell out that money, so they have to make a choice. And these "system wars" are people defending that choice. Its stupid to say that everyone should just go out and buy both because if everyone could, everyone probably would. But thats in a perfect world.
