Confirmed - Bioshock on PS3!

Oh, was that supposed to make me feel bad/owned? Nice try.

I think you missed my point.

Its lame to use Bioshock as some kind of arguing point over sales or rub the "other guy's" face over which system got the game first. Its just a game that EVERYONE who likes video games at all should experience, whether that be on the PS3 or 360. For a game like this, sales don't really matter, its just a game that no one should really miss out on.

I wasn't trying to "rub it in his face", I was just making an observation/statement, and he catches feelings over it.

Well then it was a dumb statement. It did sound like you were trying to make some sort of debate out of it, when it shouldn't matter one way or the other what system it sells more on.

I have my own opinions, you have your own.

When a game as good and different and unique as Bioshock comes along, it really shouldn't matter what console it sells better on, just that everyone has a chance to experience this game. The system wars don't really matter with this game, it becomes secondary with Bioshock. That game is just that good.

That's about as close to a confirmation as we can get without seeing videos of them playing the game using a playstation controller. :p

There's one game right now I want on the 360 and that's Mass Effect, but unlike Bioshock the chances of that people ported are pretty much nill.

don't care, I participated in the beta and loved it, the control scheme was my favorite part
That's why I am getting it. Everyone from the beta said the same thing. I trust you guys more than a magazines review.

thanks
dude you'll love it, as soon as you turn on the thrusters and absolutely take off you're in for a real treat. I would never fly any other way than with the sixaxis. It works for the ground vehicles as well (tanks and jeeps) but it so much more rewarding up in the air. I wasn't very good yet when the beta expired but I couldn't care less

OMG. WARHAWK GETS A FRICKING 4....

....out of 5!

Coded by Incognito Inc – the genius developers of the stunning God of War – Warzone is the very first PlayStation 3 game that’s based entirely online, offering eight virtual battlezones that can accommodate up to 32 players simultaneously.

The action itself should be very familiar indeed to those who’ve played any of Electronic Arts’ Battlefield series on PC or Xbox 360. Gamers login and join one of two teams – engaging in a range of military campaigns from simple deathmatches through to territory grabs and the ubiquitous capture-the-flag. From there on in, it’s a case of running about and blasting opponents, or jumping into tanks and jeeps and zooming around the landscape, or else taking to the skies in the eponymous Warhawks, where the air-to-air dogfighting is so cool it could’ve been a standalone game in its own right.

Key to this game’s enjoyment is its arcade-style approach. Extra weapons, ammo and bonus equipment take the form of large icons, making them easy to spot from afar – so no squinting into the distance for a glint of that sniper rifle you want. Warhawk is also exceptionally lenient when it comes to flying into objects at speed and falling from great heights; the emphasis here is on multiplayer combat, and the only sudden death situations you’ll come across involve being heavily outgunned by an online opponent.
It feels good, it feels right. It’s as close to a massively multiplayer virtual warzone as we’ve ever seen on console and you can’t help but be impressed by the scale of what’s going on around you. You may be engaged in an urban shootout on foot, with team members manning the anti-aircraft guns by your side, Warhawks duelling in the skies, while other comrades jump into jeeps to speed off into the distance, taking the fight to the enemy base.

In terms of audio-visuals, Warhawk is one of the better-looking PS3 offerings. The futuristic, pseudo-alien setting has allowed Incognito to create some memorable battlezones – from a blasted city in the sky to a stunning island area where the land masses tower into the heavens. Everything moves smoothly and the amount of detail – especially when viewed from on high – is incredible. Audio is excellent too, with Warhawk being the first PS3 game we’ve encountered that features full, uncompressed 7.1 surround sound (HDMI only).

Also impressive is the way that Warhawk’s arenas can be changed to accommodate the number of players in the game. Server operators can scale down the map so the action takes place in specially selected areas – great for when there’s only four to eight gamers in a current session.

It’s difficult to be at all negative about this game, because Warhawk is just so much fun and hugely playable. The only criticism that can be levelled at it is that there is absolutely no single-player option whatsoever so, obviously, leave this well alone if you have no broadband connection.
Otherwise this is highly recommended whether you go for the game with bonus extras on Blu-ray disc, or else download the cheaper version from the PlayStation Store

4 out of 5

lol he forgot the name at first. Warzone?

Ugh, I crigned at the 4, until it turned out to be out of 5! Take that other magazine!

i think i might buy warhawk for 40 on the PS store rather than 60 on the retail. i didnt get to do beta. =(

Thats the way I'm going as well. I need to save as much money as possible for the rest of the games coming out this year. Plus, I already have a bluetooth.

Eitherway you buy it seems too expensive, which might be contributing to some reviews. I mean 59.99 for Warhawk + Headset or 39.99 for online both seem a little too much imo. 49.99/29.99 or 39.99/19.99 would be a much better price for an online only game.

Hahaha, not sure if thats good. Im really looking forward to this. My PC isnt good enough for heavy multiplayer games, so i was looking forward to the beta, and loved it.

Levine confirms no PS3 BioShock

Joystiq just got off the phone with Ken Levine, lead designer for BioShock, who says the BioShock PC issues are overblown because they're under a microscope right now due to the game's profile and he fully admits they "screwed up," patches are most definitely in the works and there is no PS3 version of BioShock in development or planned.

Levine admits there were "real screw-ups" and he "understands why people are pissed off" about the online copy protection verification for the game and it comes down to a classic victim of their own success story. They couldn't have planned the game would be such an insta-hit and they weren't prepared, so when all those people tried to verify their PC versions online during installation the server crashed. He also reiterated patches are in the works for the FOV issues and that the copy protection limit locked in for PCs will be raised. He also assured us that the servers used to authenticate the game for the PC to allow installation will be there for decades in case someone wants to install the game years from now. He says there is nothing "insidious" in their copy-protection, it's the same as any other game that uses the same protection program.

Then there is the lingering question of the rumored PS3 version of BioShock found in the PC code. Levine responds quite clearly, "I promise you, there is no secret plan about the PS3 that we're keeping from people. There's no PS3 development going on that we're hiding. There's lots of stuff that gets into game code, plans change over time and we got an exclusive deal with Microsoft ... that's not a Rosetta Stone discovery."

We'll have the full Ken Levine interview up as soon as the lovely and joyful transcription process finishes. :(

Hahaha I guess I was wrong.

Hmmm... I was sure they were going to put Bioshock on the PS3. Maybe 2K figures it's not worth the dev cost.

Well....that came out of left field. Still I can't imagine Sony not doing something to get his game on the PS3 eventually. But if they don't, its a pretty damaging blow.
