They had to save some for the sequel/trilogy. I'm glad they went this route. They were playing it safe and being very damn smart about it.

They built up my hopes, and how they explained each character was exciting. I can't wait for this now.

The Rosters are pretty muc hexactly how I predicted, except for the Helicopter not being renamed Soundwave!

Hope this puts down a lot of the worries and complaints. Lots of G1 in here, mainly the characters' personas! Woooo!! Love that Autobot Roster!!

Well, I think the question is will Scorponok be more along the lines of the Beastwars Scorponok in size. 'Cause the G1 Scorpie was bigger than a battleship.

Well, don't hold me to this but storywise if they have Wheeljack as a character in a sequel, he could create the Dinobots to fill out the Autobot Ranks on Earth, meaning the original three Grimlock, Swoop and Sludge. As you may recall, the Dinos and the Constructicons had a rivalry in the cartoon earlier on so with Bonecrusher included in this first movie, it would only make sense to bring the rest in the sequel. I think they're doing a wait and see approach. If this first movie is successful enough, they'll shell out more money for the sequel. Let's face it, Devastator as a Gestalt is huger than the other Transformers who are pretty huge in comparisin to humans which means more money needs to be allocated for the FX to bring him to life. Plus it could be a very good "Oh s***!" moment in a sequel because Sam "Spike" Witwicky wouldn't know what the hell the Constructicons are doing until he's informed about it. Remember, the first film will most be a meet and greet affair to familiarize newbies to the ransformer world. Let's save the big stuff for the sequels after introductions have been made.

P.S. And yes, if the writers want a collaborator for a sequel, I'm still available. Just give me a buzz. I'm just chock full of ideas.

Honestly, I don't think much would need to be done. Alot of CD players come with tape decks as well. Soundwave's Alt Mode could be a CD playing Boombox with a tape deck, that way they could have Rumble be a Cassette and Lazerbeak be a CD. Ravage would be nice, but I think in terms of budget costs, it would be better not to include him.

Well, let's just remember one thing here, Michael Bay was contracted to direct the film, not so much have total creative control over it. If the writers have devised a logical explanation for size manipulation and the majority of the producers of the movie accept it, he'll just have to abide by their decision or if he feels he can't work with it, leave. Simple as that.

true, though I do like to believe I had a helping hand in Heisei Godzilla dying. though he was going to melt down anyway no matter what. even If I wasnt around.

I do like to believe I had a helping hand in his death. (damn, I sound like a broken record) a gentle push out the door in a way... I mean come on! I was half conceived from the Oxygen Destroyer!!! i gave him a run for his money and if it wasnt for his little melt down at the very end to give him that extra boost in his radiation breathe, he would of been done for like junior.

What about FRENZY - he's in the list and and in the cartoon he is a tape that pops out of SOUNDWAVE - maybe they will just merge SOUNDWAVE and FRENZY into one character??? At least give FRENZY the voice of SOUNDWAVE...

Maybe there will be cameos...not having Soundwave in a Transformers movie, is like not having SNAKE EYES in a live action G.I. Joe movie...

i believe at one point blackout was soundwave then vortex and now blackout. I think he was changed due to the bad response from other fans ( i thought it suited him and made it work). We got no soundwave mostly because of the whinners. But i'm more than willing to wait if they're gonna do him some justice.
