If you thought this was the worst movie ever made, try an Uwe Boll film some time.

He is doing the film adaptation of the video game 'Postal' which should be intresting. It is an extremely violent game which will likely cause controversy because it shows the U.S. Postal Service in a negative manner. He will probably be on CNN or something like that.

In a one-on-one interview with ShockTillYouDrop.com, Lawrence added a follow-up could be a sequel or a prequel. "I like origin stories, that would be cool. What worked for me is the film came from the 'Dangerous Habits' storyline - he had cancer and he was dying. To me that was the core of the story. It's why the movie works for me, because the story couldn't be more personal. People have thrown concepts around [for a sequel] and I go 'Why does he give a f**k?' In the first film he's trying to save his own skin. Everything else, you can come up with these stories where he goes to different lands and fight the bad guys or witch doctors, but I think it all falls flat. Until someone comes up with a great idea, whether it's earlier [in his life] or later, we'll just have to see."

Good to hear that Francis wants to do it. If they just could get it off the ground.

(Btw, mods I think it would be good if this thread could be merged into this one.)

I wonder what Francis Lawrence really knows about Constantine considering he totally failed in nailing the character at all.

it did fine in theaters, not a huge blockbuster, but it didnt have a huge budget either...and it killed on DVD.

Wrong the movie cost over $100 million. A sequel would not cost less.

I really enjoyed the first film although the ending didn't suit me at all because it just seemed weird. It was a really cool film however and I personally am happy to hear that a new one is looking well on it's way to happening. I also hope that they call this one Hellblazer if it were ever to be made.

This film should be a reboot. Dark and disturbing and starring Gary Oldman. I've only seen clips from the first film and it didn't look like any Hellrazer comic I've ever read.

The only reason I'd vote for a reboot is because, let's face it, Constantine stories are as much a comentary on day to day life in London and British culture in general as they are horror/fantasy detective stories. And L.A., my friend, is very far removed from London in a lot of ways.

There was nothing Constantine about Keanu. People need to stop denying this.

i know nothing of the book, but i loved the movie.

whatever they do is fine with me.

I liked the concepts of Constantine but the story line need more work. I don't mind a 2

I thought the movie was pretty good, too. I'd definitely be interested in Constantine 2 if he's in it.

Craig would be a fantastic Constantine, but heck, I'd be happy with a British guy. Making the character American was a big misstep.

I was never a big Hellblazer fan but i thought the story and supporting characters were really good. I would have accepted him as American but it was unneccassary. Keanu was a bigger mistake, another American could have done the job although I personally would always have suggested a Brit. I think Paul Bettany can pull off the cynicism really well and a picture floating around of him smoking just screams Constantine

I don't know anything about the Hellblazer comics either but I very much enjoyed the character Keanu portrayed. I'd love a sequel with he and Weisz.
