I like the first issue and parts of 2,3 and 4. I haven't read 5 yet.
It's an ok book, not nearly as bad as people make it out to be but it does get worse from issue to issue. The 1st issue was all i wanted from a new 52 version of Constantine both Fawkes and Lemire have a good voice for Constantine, the story is the problem. There is no story or it is very very superheroesque and without depth. Problems i have with the book is that i has too much in your face magick going on, too many shinny things with Sargon's daughter and Mr E and none of the gritty tone of Hellblazer. That would be fine, I did not expect Vertigo darkness in a mainstream version of Constantine but at least try to make it interesting.
I can't say many bad things about because the heart is kinda there, parts that remind you why you love Constantine like John's conversation with Dotty in issue 4 and how issue 1 starts basically like Jamie Delano's opening arc and JC's monologues are very nice.
DC Editorial has messed up these books, not the writers.
ps : the art is great, the colouring is a bit too bright though. Issue 1 page 1 was Perfection for me. I hope it gets on the right path after Trinity War which is surprisingly pretty awesome.
