Contracts and Rights and Legal Stuff

I know that 3 "major" sections of the Marvel Universe are not in fact, owned by Marvel.

Sony:
Spider-Man

Fox:
X-Men
FF

Correct me if I'm wrong, but these contracts never expire, correct? So, what would Marvel have to do to obtain the rights to these characters?

I also recently read an interesting article on Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver...
