Superman Returns Control Crystals (merged)

Wait a second......wasn't it explained that the crystals grow back? So all the ones stolen from the Fortress would eventually come back wouldn' they?

In Superman 2 that "control center" was basically blown to bits when Supes had his powers taken away and then by the end of the film it seemed to be fine again after he found the green crystal......which by the way wasn't even mentioned or shown in Superman Returns...

no, you are wrong. When the crystals in the fortress exploded, the most important crystal was not destroyed. It was left carelessly lying around by Lois. Clark Kent found the crystal when he returned to the fortress seeking a means to fight Zod (and that *****e bag who beat the **** out of him at the roadside dinner)

Seriously, they landed on the kryptonic rock. But I was still pissed as hell that supes didn't get them back. Like, just thinking about that pisses me off even more!!! They only way I accept that is if 'Braniac were to find them in a sequel, and Supes recovers eventually.' But, they'd have to make a sequel b/f that could happen, whoops:(

I hope Brainiac doesn't find the crystals. I hope Brainiac IS the crystals. I hope that Brainiac, is the AI that controls Jor'el's hologram program. Corrupted by being left on an island of kryptonite floating in space. In essence, I hope that Brainiac at his core, is the crystals, and that he is fully in control of NK.

That would be cool.

god people, if they fell in the ocean, there would be a second giant island (this one made of salt, crystals take characteristics from their surroundings) forming after NK was tossed into space. HELLO PEOPLE. The crystals needed water in order to grow. I thought that was pretty clearly spelled out.

That, did not happen, so, the crystals are in space with the rest of NK.

oh, you and your logic. :p

There would or wouldn't be a second island if the filmmakers knew how to close an onscreen loophole. Since they did not show us either way, I say that's a bad storytelling movie mistake rather than an intended offscreen understanding a la George Lucas and the prequels.

I'm hoping it was a scene that got cut, like so many others, and we'll get some closure in the extended cut.
