And for my own personal peevish thingy... People actually do always assume that I have some type of college education... When I've not stepped into once college classroom or taken a course even my entire life. I just (Outside of math...) paid attention in high school.

That's what I find frustrating in dealing with the Trumpistas and their ilk. I'm not asking them to have accumulated the knowledge and expertise of specialists in rigorous and deep fields. I'm not aking everyone to be a virologists, astronomers, physicists, medical doctors, historians, law professors or constitutional scholars.

All I'm asking is for my fellow Americans to PAY THE **** ATTENTION TO THE WORLD. You don't have to be aware of everything, but you have to have a baseline of knowlede and understanding of some things in the modern world. Just having a basic understanding of something as fundamental as the laws of the conservation of matter and energy alone would help us as a society to better "get" what climate change is and why it's happening. Most of society followed along with a call to war in the Middle East without the important information that Islam is riven with schism, and thus most didn't even know the difference between Sunni and Shia. Despite it being all over there are so many saying things like "We've never had ANYTHING like this happen before in the country" despite the Spanish Flu killing more than WWI.

It's like... I'm in the literal sense "uneducated".

I didn't graduate college, and I clearly hold vast wealths of intelligence and knowledge, so I don't know what more proof you people need.

I have heard this claim but it's dubious. Most of who I see are the people most likely to benefit financially, not from a safety and health perspective. Basically, the Trump Republicans who could not care less if your grandparents died.
