Sigh...
That wasn't spandex. Not even close.

Then theres Ozy. The nipples, okay yeah with the batman and robin bomb still fresh in our minds it seems like a bad idea, but think about it.. it makes cents. The guy follows Greek mythology. is whole idea is based on that, so with the Greeks throwing' nips on their armor why in the George w. bush world would he not be faithful to the Greek look?
I don't understand what problem people could possibly have with Silk Spectre.
From what I can remember Night Owl is a play on Batman - -
NO! WAIT!!!!
The Blue Beetle.
NEVER MIND I had a theory about the suit. damn, I have to re-read this book again, it's been 2 months already and I can't get my tie straight.
But heres a thought. Night Owl is a tech-y guy, hell he build the Owl-Bus so why wouldn't he build a tech-y suit rather than a spandex one? I would Imagen that this guy with all this tech-y know-how that he would want to improve the suit doesn't anyone remember the other costume shot we got..I forget where I saw it but it had zac standing buy it with a thumbs up...if I find it again I'll post it - if someone doesn't post it before me. but at any rate, if the world is gritty as zac tells us it is in the book then I would assume that Old Owlz would build a suit that could take a beating or two...then on the other hand, perhaps this look of the suit is phase 2 when he gets back into the game...just a thought or two.
You guys realize Ozzymandus costume is a mix of Roman and Egyptian armors, which sometimes imitated body details likes nipples and belly buttons.
The problem some people have with them (and me to, see my sig) is that it conjure up the "nipplegate" controversy that surrounded the Schumacher's Batman movies.
It doesn't look anything like something a guy could build though. Like a lot of the movie Batsuits, it looks like it was made by a team of costume designers.
It doesn't even look like something he aquired and modified.
And it looks like something from 2008, not the 70s or 80s.
Just as with Batman, there's no reason it couldn't have been made of a tough looking fabric with a bit of simple armour here and there.
Also, Niteowl's costume is SUPPOSED to look a bit dorky. That's kind of the point.
I think the suit looks cool enough, I've given up ever seeing a more gritty, simpler take on a Batsuit so I can't really expect one for Niteowl, but people's complaint that it's too slick or whatever are completely valid.
It's a damn near invisible detail. Notice no one pointed out the navel either. People complaining about nipples = people just looking to complain.
If you read the comic, you know from these pictures who the characters are.
