I was thinking the other day, and a couple of comments that has been mentioned in regards to the movie.

I think that X-Men Origins: Wolverine - is set over 2 time periods, appart from the prologue of wolverine growing up, the first half of the movie is set 17 years ago, where he joins joins weapon x, gets his claws...ect, The second half of the movie is set slightly just before X-Men 1, this is where Wolverine is traveling around canada trying to piece together his life.

The reason i say this is that there considering spin offs, Im told Deadpool spends half the movie in his mask, Gambit may have a spin off, and even the director said they wanted to make this movie so by the end of it he could very easly just walk into x-men 1...

So heres my theory, the first half of the movie we see how he joins weapon x - fights alongside sabretooth, silverwolf, deadpool, maverick. - Wolverine gets experimented on and he goes on the run and disappears, Weapon X - he escapes with siverfox letting free the children also captive. However a fight with sabretooth occures and Silverfox is killed, in the process his memory is wiped and he disappears.

The second half of the movie we see wolverine trying to piece together his past, Which involves him traveling to new orleans where Gambit holds information on what happend to weapon X, Blob and Kestral ended up in the circus where as deadpool and maverick now agent zero is hunting him down, final confruntation with Sabretooth leaves wolverine with the knowledge that silverfox is still alive.

Or some story along the lines. The reason i say this also with Gambit is that when we see wolverine thrown through the wall during the trailer, one of the posters i sware says 2009

The movie starts in the 19° century and ends 20 years before X-men 1

I'd love for this to be true, I figured a non linear format like what Chris Nolan does so amazingly in Batman Begins and Momento would be perfect for a wolverine origin film..... you know memory loss and all....

I kindof lost hope on the X men films 1 is descent... 2 is great .... 3 I pretend doesn't exist cause its a pile of dog sh-it

I don't know a whole lots about this film but from what I HAVE heard and seen, I think I wish this guy did X3.... hell and X1

How long was it said in the X-Men 3logy that Logan had been walking around without any memory of who he was?
I thought the prof had said it was only a couple of years...

Professor Xavier says it's been 15 years.

15 huh? I thought it was somehting like 5 or 6 years. Ok

yeah there will be some kind of before and after. around the time "the team" is assembled for weapon x and then after that. the blob is buff in the beginning, then when wolverine sees him again hes fat. i think its pretty funny.

Ok although the movie it self may not be told in a linear timeline everything in the trailer can be explained if the continuity goes as follows:

The death of Logan's dad
The older wars
The formation of the Weapon x team
Logan quitting the team
The death of Silverfox
The bonding of adamantium
Sabertooth attacking Cyclops
the Xmen movies 1-3
Logan searching for clues about his past (including former Weapon x members)
The final showdown between logan and sabertooth

It looks as if the movie will be him entering the Weapon X program and relieving his past memories while being given adamantium.

See I was thinking all the experiments leave everyone kind of f'd up, and the original script had the boxing scene with the Blob later on in the movie after the weapon X stuff.

that makes sense. they show his early early life, then weapon x involvement, and then after he breaks free.

Nope...this movie isn't linear. I think it has already been mentioned that we will learn about his past through flashbacks.

That's cool. The movie will only make sense if they use flashbacks and the final fight between Sabertooth and Logan happens after X3

I don't know if that fight is after X3. I think this whole movie happens before X1.

i didnt say it was going to be linear like that. im just saying that because people think fat blob will come first.

also people say part of this movie takes place after X3. anyone know where that idea came from? is it a fan rumor or something substantiated by someone working on the film?

I want to know where that idea started as well...I see no signs that anything in this is after X3 and neither does the script.

I'm just taking a guess. I haven't read the script, nor a desire to (no offense to those that did). I don't want to know everything about the movie before it comes out. I just think it would make sense if parts took place after X3. X1 Logan didn't know who Sabertooth was, X2 he just learned about the Weapon X program, and basically X3 happened remotely close in time to the previous movie. If all of the events occur before the Xmen movies, Logan would know about Weapon X and Sabertooth. Just my opinion but the movie only makes sense if it happens after X3

well its the fact that ive heard people rumor it besides you. maybe its like the weapon xi = deadpool rumor. more than one person has thought of it, but theres no interview where they say it true. supposedly things got changed aroudn sicne the first draft, but the post X3 thing would be a big change.

i also dont think they will cleanly make sense of the Wolverine-doesnt-know-Tyler-Mane thing. i used to say "oh well he had false memory implants that gave him something similar to amnesia so thats why he wont know who Sabretooth is in X1." but then think, if he knows who Sabretooth is by the end of this movie (post weapon x program) then he should still know who he is in X1. no sense, but then again we cant have everything perfect. this is made by Fox

If they do a post X3 thing then Wolverine 2 is out.

I'm pretty certain the entire film takes place before the first X-Men film. I certainly don't want a part of a film that has the word "origin" in the title to take place after the third film.

If his origin is told through flashbacks, I don't see why that would be an issue

because many people like myself really want to see the origin story told properly, not just in flashbacks.

what most upsets me about the back story is that i dont see ONE mention of rose. thats pretty screwed up because she is the reason he loves jean grey
