Countdown to Wii launch!!!

Uh, no mention of TP at the end of that article....?
Regardless, it makes some good points. They're gonna have to keep the games coming, but they've boasted the best launch... with Mario's headliner, a Mario Kart game, Smash Bros Online, and a true next-gen Zelda yet to come, their big guns haven't even really been played yet.

Mentioned in the N64 part along with the Virtual Console.

I got LOZ: TP and M:UA today for the Wii. There was already a line going around the corner of Best Buy for the PS3.

I bought Red Steel at Wal-Mart today. They didn't have Zelda:csad:

Oh yeah, I ****ed myself out for enough money to get a Wii!!!:yay:

I am not a fan of a lot of Nintendo's games these days but I have to say they definitely are keeping things interesting and trying to push the boundaries of gaming and I have to give them props.

How does this guy know that the Wii won't stack up graphically with the xbox360 and PS3?Is he psychic?

Take a look at Twilight Princess.I think they will do just fine.Oh and one other thing,I honestly think that between the Wii and PS3 there won't be any significant differences graphically. At the end of the day it's going to be all about the software and what game developers can do with the software.

The thing is, no one has seen what the Wii can do graphically yet. Their biggest title: Zelda is a gamecube title. It doesn't have Wii graphics... and it looks beautiful.

sorry, that just got a really good belly laugh out of me. theres no way you can actually think that, is there?

sure, Twilight Princess looks great... for an xbox or gamecube game. not for a next gen title. i'd post comparison pics between it and oh, say, resistance fall of man to prove the point, but i don't see a reason.

There is no denying that graphically, the Wii is going to be very inferior to the other two companies. The people who will be playing it will be doing so for the gaming/innovation part, not the graphics.

Eventually when the price comes down, I'll have the PS3 and the nice graphics, for the Wii, I'm just looking forward to playing something different the the average game.

That's not to say that the Wii won't have some nice graphics to it. Look at Zelda, it's going to be georgious, just not up to the other companies standards...and you know what...that's ok.:yay:

Ummm...helloo Resident Evil 4 pushed Gamecube. Nuff said. Same can apply to the Wii. It just needs that Resident Evil 4.

They're focusing on the gameplay moreso. Nintendo has more than enough resources and money to produce PS3 quality graphics, but I suspect they just have a point to make in not doing so. Like, I could probably beat the crap out of you, but choose not to to prove I'm the bigger man. I already saw one guy at Game Crazy try to play the Excite Truck thing holding the remote vertically and using the pad, and I was like, you have to turn it vertical and hold it like you're steering, dude. His friends remark, "dude, you're stupid as ****, you didn't know that?!" And to save face he says, "well, this thing is too complicated anyway." Remember, prehistoric man was afraid of fire when he first used it.

Twilight Princess looks better than an Xbox game.

Didn't a Ninty guy say that the machine wasn't going to be able to match up to the graphics of the 360 or the PS3? Not ragging on the Wii, I look forward to getting one, but I'm just saying, don't look at what the Gamecube did graphically and say "Well if they did it last gen, they'll do it again this gen."

Wii's graphics for Legend of Zelda have been greatly improved, look at the trailers, the Wii version looks MUCH better. GC was more powefull than the PS2, that's why it pulled a Resi 4, everyone knows the PS2's version looked worse. This time, the Wii is the least of the powerfull, but looking the best becuase of thinking outside the box ect.

It won't match up to 360 or PS3 games graphically ever, but it'll still kick ass.

I recall around the early 90's when the Genesis beat out the SNES as far as units sold, when it was clear the former had less to work with than the latter.

Any experienced gamer believes that there is more to a console than beautiful graphics.I can't just think about the graphics. It's like choosing a girl to go out with.Any guy in their right mind would never pick a beautiful girl with no personality. How would you have any fun with her.A console has to be more than just a pretty package.I'm sure the PS3 will be successful but I'm only interested in one game they have to offer and that's MGS4.So there is no way I'm shelling out 600+ dollars for a system to which I'm only going to play one game.I would rather pay 250 for a console that will have a ton of games that I will buy and have fun with.I know it's just my opinion but my wallet is telling my heart to go with the Wii.

We just found out that we won't be doing a Midnight launch for the Wii......which sucks. I did hold the system (out of the box) in my hands though, I refuse to play the demos though.
