Genesis Sonic was fun. But that is an absolutely fair point. Crash was fun Sonic when Sonic started to go down hill. But it doesn't change the fact that he was just Sony's response to Sonic much in the same way Sonic was Sega's response to Mario.

What hurt Crash as a franchise - besides the obvious lower quality as they broke away from Sony - was how the franchise kinda changed tones.

The original Crash games had a 'Looney Tunes' quality to them. Almost mischievous and wacky. But as the games went on, everything seemed more neutered and more kid-friendly (despite a franchise aimed already at kids.) It lost it's edge.

Knuckles is freakin sweet. I'm glad I'm not the only one who views Super Mario World in high regard. It is my favorite Mario game and I think Super Mario Bros. 3 is so overrated.

I think Sonic has come close to coming back a few times but then leaves some bad taste. Sonic CD then the two Sonic Adventure games were great then Sonic Heroes and Sonic 2006 happened. I think the franchise is in the right direction with Colors and Generations but isn't quite "there" yet. (Controversial opinion: I think I like the Sonic All-Star Racing games more than the recent Mario Karts). What I love about Crash it wasn't quite Mario or Sonic. The more character platformers the better I say!

I think the non-Sony/ND games at first played it safe and were merely okay games. The Wrath of Cortex was basically a copy of Warped(although it was certainly missing the ND charm) and the first two GBA games were pretty good 2D versions of the Original games with some of the same music. Spyro kinda played it safe too...then both got more and more ridiculous.

I'm tellin' ya.. It's happening.

Well there was Blinx and Voodoo Vince. I have alot of love for the Original Xbox...the 360 though.....slaughtered Rare and Banjo-Kazooie. I mean they were declining already as most of the the best talent had gone elsewhere it seems but jeez Microsoft....yikes.

Having a system mascot is great and I hope Microsoft get a proper one one day. Mario is King of the platform mascots but Nintendo have other great contenders too. Sonic 2nd then Crash. Microsoft need to get at least a Donkey Kong or a Yoshi. t:

If an official source is posting something like this with Playstation logos all over it, it means there's a Crash game coming to PS4 or they're just blowing nostalgic hot air at a completely inappropriate time (new console launch) and should be ignored going forward.
