Civil War Crossbones

Anyone else absolutely love Crossbones in this like myself? Even though it was just for the opening fight scene. I really enjoyed him.

Yeah, I really dug Crossbones. He was intense and feral. I especially loved the delivery of his lines, like "you son of a *****!" and "he remembered you, your Bucky." Grillo did a great job with the little material he got.

[blackout]He is more menacing than in WS for sure and lot more tougher. Widow's bite did nothing to him and he handled her easily.[/blackout]

I thought he was kind of cheesy, largely because of the voice.

Do we know he's dead? After all, he survived the events of TWS.

Honestly, I would have made him an active part in the "framing" of the Avengers, but not
killed him off
. He would have made a decent henchman for Zemo as well.

Crossbones was awesome. ESPECIALLY loved the voice. Frank is great as that character

Unless he has the power of regeneration , he's dead. Not sure one can survive an explosion like that enclosed within inside a vacuum bubble thanks to wanda's magic.

In TWS , Brock was shown burnt but alive at the end so him being back was never a surprise.

I would've appreciated more Crossbones screentime, but I did enjoy him with what we got. I loved some of his quips too!

Did anybody else get a TDKR Bane feel from him? The way he walked and fought felt very Bane-like

He reminded me more of Lord Humungus from Mad Max. Another disfigured masked brute with a similar voice.

He was badass, an awesome monster heel for Cap to duke it out with and get the show on the road, kinda like a pre-credits sequence in a Bond film.

Agree completely. Loved Crossbones. Small role, but big presence.

To me Crossbones really felt like he stepped out of a Cap comic book. He had that great evil villain style to him. I just dug it.

he did very well with what he was given. I would have liked him to survive, not as a main villain but as a rogue who randomly gives cap a hard time

^This.

Though I'd have enjoyed if he simply was given 2 or 3 more minutes in the film. To show more of his demented and sinister ways. How dangerous he was and how Cap really wanted to nail him.

Funny story about Rumlow. Some friends of mine watched Winter Soldier back when it first came out. At the time they were a huge fan of Arrow, and when they saw Rumlow, for some reason they thought "Hey look, that's the same guy who plays Slade Wilson in Arrow!" Followed by, "That makes sense! His accent in Arrow is so fake!" And then when the movie was over, they looked up the actor, realized it wasn't Manu Bennett, and that actually is Manu's real accent. :funny:
