alrighty, does anyone here agree with me that the current series of ghost rider can noway be considered part of the main marvelverse of comics?
i mean cmon just cause the ghost rider looks like the 90s one doesnt mean its canon in the marvelverse, granted i havent read the series but i rele dont plan to cause its just so messed up what theyre doing with ghost rider comics. i mean first the cancel the 90s rider before it could have even finished and then they have the hammerlane series which doesnt explain why blaze is the rider again n how n if its part of the main marvelverse and then marvel has garth ennis a great comic writer do a series so to cash in on the movie coming out n they used garth ennis not just cause hes a great writer but cause they wanted ppl who are ennis fanboys buy the comics even if they never read any ghost rider comics and think that cause Garth Ennis did a series his way thats how ghost rider is and who he is, like theres this kid i know thats a big ennis fan and we were discussing the current series out after ennis' and how i think its all messed up if its supposed to be canon to the marvelverse of comics cause it shouldnt be cause its WRONG i mean yea a lot of ppl would think that they best ghost rider would be johnny blaze as the host and noble kale as the ghost rider or have the same look as the kale ghost rider n his powers BUT ITS WRNG ITS ALL WRONG i mean cmon i read in some thread a lon time agao that ennis didnt know about ghost rider rele and that the only advantage the character had was the bike and the flaming skull WHAT THE HELL!? i mean i dont blame ennis for the series cause i liked it BUT i do blame whoever was incharge and had him do it just to have sales n add hype to the movie and then there is the series after it, im not sure if its supposed to be part of the ennis series or not but i do know its got the same idea of blaze as the rider but same powers n look of the 90s rider and trapped in hell and all that at first i wasnt sure if it was a new series on its own or part of ennis series or the 90s rider or what but then i skimmed thru the issue with doc strange and saw that they didnt know each other when they met so that is obv that since they dont know each other that there is noway in hell this series is canon to the main marvelverse GOD WHO IS IN CHARGE OF THIS AND WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM
and now for the strongest piece of evidence that the past three series along with the other series of trail of tears and the sleepy hallow or whatever series arent canon is THEY JUST HAD THE LAST ISSUE OF THE 90s GHOST RIDER RELEASED I MEAN CMON HOW CAN YOU HAVE A NEW SERIES IF THE ONE BEFORE THEM NEVER GOT COMPLETED !? man i hope someone in marvel freaking WAKES UP and has some current series made to fill the missing years i mean yea ok they finally made the last issue BUT ITS NOT ENOUGH
what about what happens after what happens to hell whatt happens to blackhear and mephisto and noble kale dan ketch john blaze roxane vengeance and all the other characters for christ sake
so yea thats finally off my chest

hahahaha yea
i have horrible grammar and all my thoughts are just a mess in my head and thats just how they wind up when i type em, so im sorry to anyone whos eyes get sore from trying to read and make sense of what it is i type.

Okay. I have absolutley no ****ing idea what you wrote because it looks like one giant blotch on the screen. but from what I can gather, this series IS canon. They can start a new series from a cancelled one, they've done it for years. The final issue of Vol. 2 was only to appease us fanboys who repeatedly threaten Marvel over the last 8 years.

Again, Joe Q., sorry about your cat. I never meant it to go that far.

With that said, Ghost Rider has always been a character filled with plotholes and confusing stories that just lead to more confusion, at least in Vol. 2. All the various crossovers didn't help. These stories are in the current 616 universe (I believe that's the title for it, my Marvel knowledge sucks), with the mention of Ketch in issue 4, bringing the story back to Satan and not Mephisto, having Strange know who Blaze and the Rider is, and the current storyline dealing with a post Civil War storyline. We are going to have to fill int he blanks ourselves. Unless Way gets into it (which he might), we may never know how the SOV shifted back into Blaze for the Hammer Lane series.

Hmm... I think I might have confused myself...

Anyhoo, long story short, it's canon.

I think.

I consider the new ongoing series part of the GR saga. As for the Ennis/Crain limited series', I don't consider them part of the history. They're like interesting, independent tales to me.

The history of GR is far more convoluted than I'd like it to be and I still don't fully understand it, but I just focus on what's happening in the current issues rather than trying to link it with what's gone before and hurting my brain.

But that's just me.

:yay:

You don't consider Road to Damnation part of the history? It's directly tied in to the plot of the new ongoing. I thought RTD was awful, but still, if the ongoing counts I think RTD has to.

Guess you're right there. Unless things go from 1,2,3... I get confused.

:woot:

Danny Ketch is long gone. I miss him to, but Johnny Blaze is now the Ghost Rider. How? I don't know. We'll never know, but it is canon. Rehashing what happened to Danny will just be a further mess in terms of continuity. I'd suggest to pick up the series and try to ignore any continuity errors, but frankly the series isn't really that great...yet. I'm hoping things get better.

As for GR history well...Ivan Velez Jr planned on giving Danny back his life. (We saw this in GR Finale.) He also planned on eventually having Noble Kale bond with Johnny Blaze around issue 100. So some of us can assume this is what happened. Others say its Zarathos. To be honest, I don't think it's going to be made clear. This is a fresh start for the character. Take it or leave it.

yea, but i dunno. i mean its not like the 90s series just got canceled, but it was canceled before it could even finish, ya know? and with them finally releasing the last issue, i think its going to just confuse a lot of new fans. i feel that for me to just read the comic and enjoy it and forget about the 90s series is hard cause it just doesnt make sense is all. i mean if they want blaze to be the rider again and even have the look of the 90s one, whatever , its not that big a deal to me but itd just be nice if they just make sense of it. they always do retcons to comics but this is just ridiculous to me cause it seems to me like theyre only having any series of ghost rider at all is because of the movie and they want to make some money off of it. its like they made the ghost rider character into some kind of comic ****e, having all of these different series coming out at once round when the movie was comign out. whatever, ive lived without any ghostrider comics since the 90s so ill manage.

You're quote is precisely how I feel. I mean I'd rather have a Ghost Rider series than nothing, but I feel kind of jipped. The worst part was that the 90s series was just getting exciting again when it was canceled. The last arc was one of the titles strongest.
It sucks, but at the same time, I think going back to those stories will just confuse toomany readers. We got screwed, but like you said, we'll have to manage.

yea. its kind of easy for me to not rele care about not liking the current series cause i havent been into comics for a while mainly due to not having the money for it and then caue i dont have the space. and theres cause of the first two reasons i usually wind up taking long breaks from comics which throws me out of the loop of current comic stuff. and without having enough money for all the diff kinds of comics i cant rele get back into it all fully.
and as for the whole whatever happened to dan ketch and noble kale thing, i dunno exactly about this site, http://www.aric-dacia.com/pendragons/ghost1.htm , but i found it on the 2nd page of the official fan art page, where MarvelMovies posted a bunch of links and i was just going thru em for pics and whatever and i got to that one and i dont know what it is exactly cause i havent rele looked thru it. but it looks like there was some series that explained what happened after noble kale ruled hell. thats all i rele know so far of it, so if anyone hasnt already been there i guess go there and check it out. you all prob have already cause its been there since 2004.

Sock, that link you posted is for GHOST RIDER U.K., a fanfiction series written a few years ago by my friend Barry Reese (who later went on to write the Ghost Rider section of the Marvel Knights Encyclopedia and assisted on many a volume of the most recent Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe series).

ohhhhhhhhhh. thanks for telling me about it. i didnt rele look at the site much yet, so i didnt know what it was exactly in regards to if it was real or or not.
vengeance unbound is an awesome site. vengeance unbound and the ghost rider internapse site are the two best ghost rider sites ive seen. if it werent for either of em the closest thing to ghost rider stuff on the internet would prob be the wikipedia pages and this forum.

Sounds good to me.

As much as I like GR this new series isnt that great, the art is awesome, story is so so...
