Just a quick question for those that have used spray paint on fabric.
How long does it last???????????????
I mean it won't start to chip off or fade after a couple of months does it??

well you should use fabric paint such as duplicolor. I've used it in the past and have never had a problem.

Well I had found couple of colors at a fabric store and was going to try that. If that didn't give me the results I wanted then I would use the
duplicolor.

Hya, Finally finished my suit. took it out to a night clubs' halloween party yesterday. there were no other superman there. fantastic!!
got ask for my photo a few times which was cool.

Has anyone tried making a cape like in the comics or the WB's Superman TAS/ Justice League? I like how the back of the cape isn't connected to the neck and how the cape starts at the collar bone and goes over his shoulders. I think the SR suit with a comic/ Superman TAS style cape would be badass.

I am curious what steps you guys take to get the spandex. I was looking at a couple places that sold spandex but couldn't find what I was looking for.

I looked for a place (locally) that sold dancer wear, unitards...stuff like that. only cost me $50 for the body suit itself...plus I like that I got to try in on to make sure it fit me.

i've always loved the long haired supes. and i hav long hair so i dyed it from blonde to black. bit of a colour change eh?

i got my blue suit from ebay. i bought a spandex superman suit and then added my own \s/ on the top , cape and boots.
search for 'zentai superman' cost me about £20 (~$40)
but dunno if you'll get the same search results on the usa ebay so try both.

I am working on a new suit. An Alex Ross suit. I'll post pics as soon as I get it underway. I ordered the spandex bodysuit from riversedgedancewear.com and the shoes from eastbay.com that I am going to use as a base to make the boots. I still need to get the briefs and material for the cape, boots, and some yellow for the emblem.

Thanks to Brian (greenarrowfl) over at the League of Heroes message board for the yellow moleskin and a reeve style buckle (not shown here) and for the tutorial on the inset "s" shield. I finished up the emblem today so I wanted to share. I am also gonna be making the boots following Brian's tutorial as well. I ordered a royal blue unitard from River's edge, a few weeks ago, but I haven't been billed or anything and it hasn't arrived, so I think I'm gonna stick with the shirt I got here and get a pair of pants to go with it.

Is anyone familiar with comic-costumes on eBay? I want a Superman Returns costume to wear to conventions and this one looks like a good one. I know nothing about making a costume myself, so I hope spending this much money gets me something as nice as the ones I've seen you guys here make.

I've never done business with them. The suit looks pretty good, but honestly, you may want to consider spending the 40-50 exrta bucks to buy the "plain blue" SR costume from Ricky's Custom Costumes. I can vouch for both quality and customer service from him. Also the suit will be taylor made to you.

Thanks for the information. I'm going with Ricky. I looked for him earlier based on prior discussions here, but couldn't find him. That is because he doesn't post to the costume category, but clothing/suits rather.

I was just wondering, does anyone know if anyone has ever made a Fleischer Superman costume with the yellow, red, and black \S/?

I've made a couple, but I sold them a while back. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics of it any more. I am thinking about doing another one for myself with darker colors.
