CW doesn't want "Smallville" or "Supernatural" to end just yet

well the thing is they dropped their comedy block on fridays, and so they wanted a show to anchor the night, and smallville is the top rated drama on the network and they think that with its average 3.0 million viewers they will stay with the move and the network would finally have a friday night show that got over 3 million viewers. I believe all their other shows on average only get between 1-high 2 million viewers. As for spiltting up smallville/supernatural that was a bit of a dumb move their. But they thought with having that new vampire drama paired with supernatural would be a good pairing with each other and with supernatural viewers hopefully watching vampire show before supernatural is on.

But we all know for smallville the network has said as long as the show stays at or above its average 3.0 million viewers they are happy and fine with the show. And if it keeps that average then yea a 10th season would be picked up. But like i said before the producers have said the network wouldnt up and can them without a good time frame to wrap things up. So we just have to wait after first few episodes to see how ratings are fairing.

Last season should have been Smallville's last

people have said that every season since season 5. Its a broken record now. It wasn't the last, there is no indication this will be the last so there is no point in 'shoulds'

Smackdown actually got pretty good ratings(for the CW at least) on Friday nights, but I guess it didn't fill there "target demo" quota

Well yea i know it did well for the cw when they had it for a few yrs, still a stupid move on dawn o's part on getting rid of it. But that is a whole other discussion. As for smallville as long as it maintains its average ratings we fans have nothing to worry about it. And if the show could survive against american idol, surivor and other heavy hitter shows that were getting 8-20million viewers a night and it was keeping its 3-4million viewers and on average getting between 4th-7th place for the night. I think it will be fine against all the other friday prime time shows, then secondly practicly all of them are not even in smallville's demo besides my network wwe smackdown.

SPeaking of Season 10 I don't know if this is true or not cause I got it at Wikipedia. However it was saying Callum Blue has signed on signed on for two years for a long-term story arc. IF that is the case than Zod might could continue to be the big bad not only in Season 9 but Season 10 if there will be one.

well its possible, we dont know how callum's contract was drafted. Though i rather have some other big bad for a possible 10th season. But we got to wait to see how ratings go before we know if a 10th is happening.
