CW's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Last night's episode was also good. I love how a lot of Rebecca's musical numbers are based (stylistically at least) on 80s music videos. This week it was Material Girl, and next week it's Hey Mickey.

That makes sense. Pass the early 2000s music videos don't really have visibility recognizable imagery. Just the artist like Beyoncé or Gaga

Love the mid-season finale

Valencia is hot and I'm glad she's getting more screen time now that she and Rebecca are friends.

I've done that instagram/social media check before and it's a rabbit hole! They found that old woman's obituary.lol

That ending song where their hair kept getting continually bigger was killing me!

Apparently Santino Fontana (Greg) left the show after his CW contract expired. Not sure if it's one of those dumb career-ending moves actors make sometimes or if they just didn't renew his contract. Kinda sucks; I liked his character and while I know the show is built up around Rebecca and Josh, Josh just becomes more of a moron as the show goes on.

Anyway, I saw the first episode of last nights two-parter. Good stuff, but some of the musical numbers this season aren't as funny as last year's. Also, I saw a report that said ratings for this are really bad, likely due to that awful time slot they gave it.

The latest ep was the best. Becca's therapist almost getting the break through was the best part.

I had some of the episodes DVRd but since they disappeared I am just going to wait for the season to end so I can binge it all.

I'm still 3 eps behind, but still digging the show. I kind of can't believe it got renewed. The signs are definitely there for it getting cancelled: shunted off to Fridays, episode count reduced from the prior season from 18 to 13. Must be the Golden Globe wins/nominations that's keeping this thing afloat.

This show is absolutely amazing and one of the best currently airing on TV. Rachel Bloom is absurdly talented and the Emmys are crazy to keep ignoring it. I hope its appalling viewing figures don't prevent it from getting as many seasons as the creators desire to finish it.

Finally watched the first ep. Thought it was great. Only 2 songs, but they were both awesome!

Rebecca went full-tilt. I loved all those interjections about funding public education.

Felt bad for Tim how Paula kept stomping on his happiness without even trying. Lol

Don’t like the new opening but I get the symbolism I think.

Just watched the Josh Groban episode. I saw his name in the credits, but had forgotten about it when this happened:

The new opening has grown on me. I really dig it.

Glad this got renewed, though it makes me sad that it's the final season. However, I've heard that Rachel Bloom only wanted it to go for four seasons. If that's the case, then that's where it should end.

I wonder how it will all wrap up though. Will Rebecca wind up with Nathaniel? Will Greg ever come back for a cameo? Will Josh ever grow a brain?

Also, I would LOVE a Valencia/Beth spinoff, though it would never happen.

Yeah she had a 4yr plan. Glad she isnt trying to stick it out.

Still, kinda sad to see it end. I have kind of a love/hate relationship with musicals in that most of the ones that have come out in recent years (IMO) have been pretty poor. But this show really works.

So no comments on the final season? :( I just binged the last season on Netflix and it was so great. The ending was sad and sweet. They went with the predictable route but ultimately a good choice for the character. Overall, this whole show was so great. The storylines, the characters, the way the songs were incorporated, it was all great. I’m going to miss this cast so much. Hope we get to see them and Rachel Bloom in more roles .
