The people just called me back.

It cracks me up when people assume you're not black or asian or latino because you "speak so well with that excellent grammar inflection." What exactly are they expecting you to sound like, Dave Chappelle, Jackie Chan or Rosie Perez, respectively? I have decent grammar, but people can still tell over the phone that I'm black, mostly due to the tone of voice they say. I remember one day at work a woman called back and asked to speak to the person she spoke with last time, and she said "he sounded like a negro."
