Dan Didio on Dan Didio

I never thought I could hate Spidey of Nightwing.

i havent liked the spidey comics for a long time... its almost as if marvel has had no idea what to do with him...

trillions of very late books like Wolverine/Hulk, etc etc.

All Star Batman, All Star Superman, Wonder Woman, Seven Soldiers, Teen Titans etc.

:)

Any of those as late as Secret War #4 or Hulk/Wolverine #3?

Ah, petty argument I see. No. But you never brought up the amount lateness in your initial post. Though All Star Batman and Robin blah blah...is getting there. Any other arguments you wanna throw out so I can show your bias?

I hope it doesn't, but All Star Batman could get there easlily.

I really hope he doesnt go, "well that book sucks anyway" route, that would be lame.

Hah, well I like it. The writing is so crappy it's funny and Jim Lee's art is great.

The book sucks, but it's no excuse. And how about the ******edly late Black-Cat/Spidey?

There's late and there's OMFG COME ON! Yet another reason not to use non-comic book writers.

Yeah, sorry Allan Heinberg. But oh wait, wasnt WW on Doc's list of great DC titles?

Didio doesn't write the Flash, and he doesn't write Nightwing.

What in the world does those books sucking have anything to do with Didio:confused:? He makes editorial decisions, he doesn't write books themselves. Everyone always wants executives in suits to have less of a say in writing books than the authors themselves, well...Didio is doing just that, and it's still his problem? Bruce Jones is already getting kicked off Nightwing -- which is the sort of decision that an executive should be making -- and Didio and Wolfman have more or less promised that there are big things in store for that title. And there is obviously a long-term plan in store for the Flash as well...it's been all of two issues and people can't seem to stop b**ching about it. I've seen far worse, honestly.

And Quesada has too much of a say in what goes on in Marvel's books. Writers' plans get tread on and cut apart all over the place all the time just for his own short-term whims and pet projects. X-Men, Spider-Man, Avengers...the list goes on and on.

Yeah, but I'd rather have a book on time.

Yes, Didio does make editorial decisions youre right. Like the decision to put Bruce Jones on Nightwing in the first place. The decision to put two failed tv writers on a big book like The Flash. The switcheroo of killing Superboy instead of Nightwing because he doesnt know his fanbase. Shall I go on?

Doc Destruction said:
I can't say that was a bad move IMO. Nightwing > Superboy.

Well I agree, but the fact that he admits in his DC Nation thing that he thought he was "redundant" and "had to go" shows he doesnt know his fan base. Really Doc, I'd say Nightwing is up there with the trinity popularity wise.

BUT, he shifted gears for his fanbase. Can't say fat-ass ever does that.

personally i dont think either of them should have died... it should have been kara

Actually I can.

You know when you guys always complain they have a big event or something and then they go back to the status quo. Then, they always go back to the fanboy comort zone.Like they'll be going back to the old Spider-Man costume. People *****ed for years to bring back Colossus, they brought him back (sorta like when they brought back Donna Troy, worst move ever by the way)

I await a typical response like they just did that for shock value, or they ran out of ideas. And then ill respond with examples of DC doing the same, then youll go and complain about something else Marvel does, then ill counter, and youll counter back then ill pwn your ass, then youll pwn me and they cycle will continue.

That's not true. Not one bit. I didn't complain about ANY of the changes brought about by Secret WarS, Crisis 1, IC, Identity Crisis, AoA or even the company crossovers. I LOVED Amalgam and JLA/Avengers.

Lately Marvel has just been 1) All about the shock. 2) Only interested in what the WRITERS want. and 3) Very uncaring of continuity and characterization.
