I must thank Charlie Boy for introducing me to this show back in December. This is now my new favorite show on TV and I've watched every episode countless times. I've died laughing during every episode.

I think Close Encounters of the Rick Kind or Rick Potion #9 are the best episodes, but Rixty Minutes will always be my favorite.

Yep. You were talking a lot about it in the DC boards lounge, and since I watched a lot of Adult Swim I was wondering why I haven't watched it yet. So I watched the first two episode and fell in love with it.

Oh, and the Two Brothers trailer of Rixty Minutes was one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life.

My friend and I argue about this often. He tells me Rixty Minutes is the pinnacle of animated television and the best this show has done thus far. I'd say for my money, I prefer Messeeks and Close Rick-counters.

I think Close Rick-counters was better, and Meeseeks I'd also say was better thanks to it's handling of more serious scenes not to mention some of the subtlety of the episode (such as how Rick handled the whole attempted rape situation), but Rixty minutes I'd say was the episode I had the most fun with. Sure, it dealt with a few heavy elements, but those elements were never the main part of the episode unlike the two aforementioned ones.

I agree with you. Messeeks and Close Rick-counters are among the best.

I also have a soft spot for Lawnmower Dog.

This is one of those very rare cases where most if not all of the first season was just gold. I dug Rixty Minutes, the Ants In My Eyes salesman and the commercial that goes on for like, forever, is just brilliant.

I love how Rick outsmarts the devil then gets bored of toying with him.

Also the episode where there's a planet filled with savage males was a nice change because Rick goes on an adventure with Summer.

and who can forget the family casually eating breakfast while Morty loudly bangs a sex-bot in his room..

It felt wrong yet reasonable at the same time.

The ending is still one of the most F**ked up endings to cartoon I've seen, and I love it.

I found Close Rick-counters incredibly dark.

Plus that episode has so many twist and turns.

It opens a huge can of worms for season 2.

Something Ricked This Way Comes. Beautiful subversion of the whole "Deal with the Devil" trope. I forget the subplot of that episode though.

Also the episode where there's a planet filled with savage males was a nice change because Rick goes on an adventure with Summer.

Raising Gazorpazorp, which has the subplot of Morty raising his son who only wants to destroy and murder, with Jerry and Beth doing some awesome back-seat parenting.

I believe the subplot had to deal with Morty and Jerry going to Pluto with Jerry trying to prove to Morty and Rick that Pluto is still a M***********g planet!

Oh yeah, that subplot sorta fell flat for me.

Yeah, it was weak. The only good part of the subplot was when Jerry came into Morty's room and Morty ripped him for not knocking.

and the best part is its a poorly drawn cartoon on the darkest corners of television.

I like how unassuming and unexpected it is.
