Yeah, I was surprised he was around as far back as that. Of course, it wasn't until the 2000s when I started payin' attention to creators.

Man, that's some really bad Bags' artwork...

Ugh...

:csad:

This, along with the Web of Spider-Man:Mark of Kaine issue were my first issues when I started collecting and really caring about the Spider-Universe.

It was cool back then, cause the internet wasn't around (for me anyway), so trying to figure things out and the order they happened in and to what spider was so fun to learn. It was a complete mystery. I had to piece together every little new bit of info together from flashbacks and quotes and see the grand story and it was a great accomplishment when i started to get the bigger picture of how it all fit together.

I miss that "age of wonder"
*darn you internet and JQ*

Kind of like the fun of trying to figure out how things are falling into place since BND began...

:yay:

It might be just the Inker and Colourist who messed it up.....

Aloha,
Bags like most artists shines with the right inker. If memory serves me, Mahlsted and Emberlin(sp?) were the main two when Bags was on Amazing.Who inked Bags when he was on New Warriors?

Aloha,
Yea, but you have to approach BND with that same attitude or you'll never like it.

For the first twenty something issues, it was usually Larry Mahlstedt...i didnt read New Warriors much further than that, so im not sure if the two continued working together, or what...

You can find a list of Larry's Spidey related work here: http://www.spiderfan.org/credits/larry_mahlstedt.html

Klaus Janson is awesome when it comes to inks...i just hate it when he tries to pencil...well...anything. Painful.

Another inker with mad skills is Art Thirbert....and Jimmy Palmiotti is awesome, too. His brother Peter is totally awesome on inks as well.

*shameless self promotion warning*

Jimmy Palmiotti's younger brother, Peter is actually inking my book Tribulations, now! How crazy is that?!

Peter's a good guy. He's supposed to be drawin' a story fer me as well, but haven't heard from him in a while. I'll hafta drop him a line.

Yeah, Klaus was the one that came up with all the shadowy stuff when he and Miller were on Dardedevil, correct?

I think so...

Another great inker was Terry Austin, especially his inks over John Byrne's art...

As others have said, I was surprised that he was around back then, but hey, that's a great thing if you ask me.

I remember reading this story back when it first came out in the Venom Super Special. Good stuff

Man, i think he used to work on the Ren & Stimpy comic in those days...seriously.

There was an issue where they met Spider-Man. I wonder if Dan did that one. I think my daughter still has it, maybe i'll look for it this weekend.
