Justice League Danny Elfman Scoring Justice League - Part 1

HOWEVER, the Hero theme by Elfman for the film, it sort of reminds me of the Ant-Man score a little bit. Did anyone else get that? The beginning kind of reminds me of the Ant-Man theme.

Just gave it a quick listen, and yeah you’re right. It does sound like the opening few notes of the Ant-Man theme. I’m surprised I didn’t notice that before , especially since I love that theme.

According to Danny Elfman, Justice League Logos track is the theme along with the Heroes' track.

The hero and anti-hero themes I did as wild tracks. They weren’t actually scored to picture. That was just me defining these two elements that I was really digging and having some fun with it. [The Batman callback is] not actually referring to any specific moment onscreen ending with Batman, it was just for my own pleasure.

“Hero’s Theme” is an overall heroic theme for the Justice League, and as I mentioned, there’s also a secondary theme, which represents the team. That’s how the logos start right at the beginning of the film.

Great to hear that generic track isnt the JL theme.

I like the heroes theme so if the JL logos theme is just as good...then I'll be satisfied.

Yup. Honestly, the best thing I've heard so far has been the score they used for the Superman motion poster. That was fantastic and epic.

I really like the track we heard in the latest Superman motion poster, but don't know if it's from Elfman.

I like it a lot, however I wish it could be a bit more rhythmic, and actually hear the MOS theme. I feel like every bit is only half complete. Half the tone off from the MOS score.

"Fans, when they hear little bits of the John Williams themes, even when they’re in an offshoot like Rogue One, it provides this great historical context that ties everything together in a really satisfying way.

My feeling coming into Justice League was that DC had great things that were uniquely theirs and to not acknowledge them was to let go of little jewels. To deny that is really just denying the fans. To a fan, hearing that little connection is a heartwarming thing. It gives you some adrenaline and excitement. It’s fun!"

So glad that Danny Elfman understands this.

He misinterpret things. Rogue One is the universe as Saga episodes. DCEU is not Williams's Superman nor Elfman's Batman. What's so hard to understand about that? :whatever:

This comes out what, tomorrow? I'm honestly surprised that it hasn't leaked in its entirety yet.

And yet you misunderstand him. He's talking about the historical context for the characters themselves. The film characters might only last as long as a series ends, but these characters are not just film characters, they're 80+ year old comic characters that span almost every medium known to man. They do that because they're iconic, and more than often have become household names due to their immense popularity. Iconic themes have the ability to have that same effect. They shouldn't die when a movie series ends.

The themes aren't dead. You can listen to them at any time you like. I do. Directors change, actors change, costumes change. Music shouldn't get special treatment. Recycling the same old thing is the worst thing that could happen to film making (or any art form).

Since Elfman is recycling stuff, is he gonna recycle the old The Flash theme? Cause that theme was badass. :woot:

I loved that theme, even if it was an offshoot of his work on Batman. Well, his discarded ideas and cues he had for Batman I should say.

Yep. Exactly. We would never get the TDKT if that kind of thinking prevailed.

You checked to see if it was real or fake?

I loved it too. It made The Flash feel like it belonged in the same universe as Burton’s Batman which, as a kid, I thought was pretty ****ing cool.

Full score leaked.
